“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?”
1. WITH SOMETHING SMALL. “…faithful in that which is least…” (will you stay in the field?)
2. WITH MATERIAL POSSESSIONS. “…unrighteous mammon…” (where did you get all this barley?)
3. WITH WHAT BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE. “…what is another man’s…” (There was another man closer to marry)
As faithfulness is developed in our lives, it eliminates at least three aspects of our “old man” that correspond to the above:
1. pride
2. love of money
3. disloyalty.
God desires to promote us all and bring us into everlasting joy, but first He must work this great quality of faithfulness into our lives.
ACTION STEP: Take an account of your current situation and ask yourself some very hard questions:
1. Have I been faithful in the small things? Do I show up to work on time? Do I set an example at work for the other employees? Are my children at school on time? Do I do my best at work or do I surf the internet and talk on the phone? of Text during work hours?
2. How do I spend my money? Am I taking care of my car, my house, my clothes? Do I waste food, water, groceries, and utilities?
3. Do I clock into my job on time? Have I taken anything from the work place that doesn't belong to me?
Honestly, ask God to help you in the area of faithfulness and give Him permission to hold you accountable and to teach you. Ask others to write 25 things down about you and see if faithful is listed. Finally, do a word study on the word faithful. If you haven't picked your word for 2022 pick FAITHFUL! Your life will be different for it.
Remember, I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.
