" I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Jesus had a goal. The cross was his goal. To die was his goal. To save us all from satan's power--yes, that was his goal. It wasn't easy. It got bloody. He had everyone from kings to fisherman tell him to turn around. Don't go. But, on he traveled toward Jerusalem.
Proverbs 16:9 says “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and he will make your paths straight.” In some versions it says that God will direct our paths.
When we remain focused to our goal, and it is a God goal, then God will help us along the way. We must not lose hope or wear ourselves out beating the air or running in circles.
My goals focus my energy.1 Corinthians 9:26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.
“The steps you take don’t have to be big. They just need to take you in the right direction.”
Light diffused has no power at all but when you focus light, it has enormous power. The sun cannot set things on fire because it is diffused. But when you take a magnifying glass and pass the sun rays through it, you can set a paper on fire. If you focus light even more, it can become a laser and a laser can cut through steel and glass. A laser can kill cancer cells. You can live a laser -focused life.

1. Goals Are Statements Of Faith
Goal Setting is not secular, but a spiritual habit that we need to develop.
When you set a goal as a believer, you are saying, “I believe that God wants me to accomplish this in my life and I am trusting God to do it by such and such time.”
Goals are not just a statement of your faith, they stretch your faith.
The bigger your goal, the more your faith will be stretched and that pleases God.
Meet me here all week for more about goals. Watch the above video. Come back to it all week and re-listen to it. You can find it at www.restorationshurchintl.org, Watch live and then Archives.
