"For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
1917-1963
The first date records when he entered into time. The 2nd date marks his exit. The children he raised, the education he attained, the goals he reached, and the people he affected are all encapsulated by one hyphen between to dates.
All the things he overcame, all the men and women he motivated all the laughter, all the tears, all he accomplished is now seen as a simple little slash between two dates.
When they add the second date next to your name, what will the dash in between represent.
You see when they put that date there, the cars and the office and the job title and the number of beers you are able to get through before falling over, or the number of women you can get through in one night will mean nothing.
That dash between the dates will mean something only if you add another line to it. That lines name is Jesus.
Good Friday will never be as harsh for us as it was the disciples. We know he was resurrected – they did not.
But I know that right now some of you are going through Good Friday Issues.
Good Friday Issues? Betrayal, false accusations, standing alone when he should have been surrounded by friends, beating, torture, pain, having to keep your mouth shout when your more than able to defend yourself, the sky grows dark, despair, Shame, Anguish, Guilt, hurt, regret, a feeling of uselessness. And believe you me I know if we put our minds to it, we could make that a lengthy Good Friday list.
There is no such thing as a testimony without a test.
There is no such thing a resurrection without a death.
There is no such thing as an Easter without a Good Friday.
ACTION STEP: Today realize that by tomorrow everything can change. Refuse to be nailed to your circumstances. Get up, get up, get up...it's in your DNA.
Have a great weekend. Celebrate your freedom from sin, death, hell and the grave! Find a church to attend and gather with other like minded believers and praise God for all He has done. Enjoy family and/or friends. Be thankful.
I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.
