What is ministry?

Many think ministry is some prestigious position of honor and glory. I have heard people say, "Must be nice to stay home and travel and do what you want." I'm kind and choose my comments wisely. What I want to say and what I actually say are two very different things. I want to say that is that I don't do what I want, I do what I am told. I want to say that I die daily to what my flesh wants so others can get what they need. I want to say that I actually am never off work. My body does not belong to me it has been bought with the precious blood of Jesus...what I want to say, well that's enough of that. I smile and show them Jesus. I do what Jesus would do. However, I wish I could just take them with me for a day, just one day.

You guys, "Get it". You know the long hours and the sacrifice. You guys hear my heart beyond the words I speak. You pray. You hear. You see. Not everyone is willing to spend time with God, in His Word, praying and listening. You are a special breed. It takes all of us to do what God wants to do on this earth. It takes every single one of us doing our part for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done. And by the way, "Thanks for all you do." I know most of us work behind the scenes in so many ways no one will ever see, but I promise you--God sees.

As I drove 6 hours yesterday, alone in my car I thought about all the lost and dying people, the sick and poor, and I thought about you, and me. What others do or say doesn't matter. What matters is what God says. What matters is what we do with what we have been given. What matters is are we obedient to do what God has called us to do, because if we do then God can!! God can do all things but He does them through us!

So, that my friends is ministry. Ministry means servant. A servant by implication means we serve. We serve in whatever capacity the Lord has called us to serve. We don't compare our call, or our gift, or our chapter one with anyone else. We are unique and created for a purpose and the only one who gets to determine that is God and our personal obedience and death to self. Jesus was born to die, but He chose to obey the call, die to self and do what He was told to do! That's ministry.

Thanks for allowing me to rant. I love my social media family. You chose to come here everyday and read what I share. It's your choice. I'm honored. I love to write and I love to share my feelings, what I am learning about God, what His Word says, and I am grateful that anyone wants to read it!

ACTION STEP: What was the last thing God told you to do? Are you doing it? Do you run your life or does God? Are you a faithful (minister=servant)? If the answer is no, then why not? God's plans are so much bigger than we could ever hope or dream. How do I know? I am on my way to Armenia. It has been a dream of mine for over 30 years. God is faithful!

Yes, I believe I am doing the last thing God instructed me to do.
PRAY. Can I do it better, absolutely. I read or listen to the Word of God and intentionally purpose in my heart to carry out his commandments. Can I do more, Yes.
I love when you share from your HEART!
Servant fits anywhere.
