Genesis 1:26-28
"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

A 320-year-old Stradivarius cello that had been missing for three weeks has been returned to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra after it avoided becoming the world’s most expensive CD rack.

The primary cellist for the Philharmonic accidentally left the instrument outside his home in April. Nearby video surveillance cameras revealed that a bicyclist had stolen it. Recently, 29 year-old nurse, Melanie Stevens, found the $3.5 million dollar instrument made by master craftsman Antonio Stradivari lying beside a trash bin about a mile from where it was stolen.

Stevens found the instrument inside its silver coated plastic case and put it in her car’s trunk for two days. Then she asked her boyfriend, who is a cabinetmaker, to either repair the instrument or convert it into a unique CD holder. Stevens did not know the significance of the instrument until she saw a news report about it. She said, "I had the idea to possibly put a hinge on the front. He would install little shelves inside. It would be a very elaborate CD case. I know it sounds crazy."

The cello made in 1684 was one of about 60 made by Stradivari in his Cremona,Italy works. The Los Angeles Philharmonic bought it about 30 years ago. Robert Cauer, a Los Angeles-based instrument restoration specialist says the valuable instrument is damaged but repairable and should be back in service by this fall. Cauer added the prospect that the prized instrument could have been turned into a CD holder "is so abominable, I get sick when I hear it."

—Associated Press. Stolen 320-Year-Old Cello is Found, May 19, 2004, by Ryan Pearson, Submitted by Jim Sandell.

What I have realized in my life about purpose is that when I have discovered it, when I have found it, when I walk in it, it makes me come alive. Like the cellist that makes the cello come alive with music, so God makes me come alive when I am fulfilling my purpose.

When I am not fulfilling my purpose, my self-worth diminishes and I feel like God should just turn me into a CD holder.

What I’ve come to understand is that God has a purpose for my life, I must discover it; fulfill it.

For me it took finding a coach that looked beyond my outer shell and helped me to dive deep into my "Why" not just my "What." If you don't know your "Why" you will not have the energy and discipline for your what to matter. I want to help you with the same help I have been given. The decision is up to you. I can be reached at www.renaperozich.com

Have you ever felt like you didn’t have any purpose? I have. Have you ever felt like you’ve known your purpose but you are not fulfilling your purpose for whatever reason? I have.

Thomas Carlyle said, “A man without a purpose is like a ship without a rudder--a waif, a nothing, a no man.”

Ever feel like a ship without a rudder?

Billy Sunday said, "More men fail through lack of purpose than lack of talent."
What we need to understand is that God has a purpose for our life, we must discover it; fulfill it.

To view the video below go to your Browser or click here: https://youtu.be/FPGTHm5rcwM
ACTION STEP:  Mark Twain shortly before his death wrote, "A myriad of men are born; they labor and sweat and struggle;...they squabble and scold and fight; they scramble for little mean advantages over each other; age creeps upon them; infirmities follow; ...those they love are taken from them, and the joy of life is turned to aching grief. It (the release) comes at last--the only unpoisoned gift earth ever had for them--and they vanish from a world where they were of no consequence,...a world which will lament them a day and forget them forever." (Source Unknown.)
The reality is that when we know our purpose and we fulfill it, it will not be said that our life was of no consequence once we are gone. And certainly if we follow after God’s purposes for our life, it won’t be said that there were negative consequence of our life.

The tragedy is that too many of us live our life as if there are no negative consequences felt by others. When we live our lives on purpose—God’s purpose, we will not only minimize our negative outcomes, we will maximize our positive ones.
We will make a difference not just in our families, but also in the Kingdom of God.
What is your purpose? Do you know?

Let me close with this final thought: A rich man was determined to give his mother a birthday present that would outshine all others. He read of a bird that had a vocabulary of 4000 words, could speak in numerous languages and sing 3 operatic arias. He immediately bought the bird for $50,000 and had it delivered to his mother. The next day he phoned to see if she had received the bird. "What did you think of the bird?" he asked.

She replied, "It was delicious." (Source Unknown)

When our purpose is unknown, how sad does that make the heart of God?

When our purpose is unknown, how much do negatively impact those around us?

When our purpose is unknown, how much have we diminished the blessings of God in our life?

What we need to understand is that God has a purpose for our life, we must discover it; fulfill it. Sometimes we need help just finding out what we were created for.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.

Psalm 16:7-11
"I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.  I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,  because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.  You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

The tassel is worth the hassle. I have been a graduate, and I have spoken with a lot of graduates, and this I know, continuing education is not easy at any point in ones life; but especially as an adult with so many responsibilities. We may have a desire to learn more, but that is not enough. We must learn to prioritize. I am finding it hard to put yourself first. It is very hard for me to put myself first. I admit I struggle finding the time and concentration, to do what I truly want to do. So, how do I manage to write, study, pray, read and do all the other things as a wife, mother, grandmother, and pastor? I use my calendar, a lot, and I make a "To do" list. Whatever, I want to be sure gets done, I put at the top of the list. The problem I had with this was, I didn't feel it was urgent. So, in the beginning I would do everything on this list, except number one. Then, I would feel depressed. I would experience feelings of unworthiness, anger, self-doubt, and yes--even have a pity party. I'd say things like, "I never get to do for me. I never get to do what I want to do." Then, it hit me. If I don't make my wants, urgent to me, they won't be important to anyone. Why? They don't realize how many people need help. No one knows the impact the book will have, because the book (books) aren't finished yet, or for you whatever the number one thing is on your list. Think of what isn't happening because you aren't doing the number one thing on your list. God will hold us responsible for the giftings He has placed on the inside of us. Come on. No one wants to go to the grave with a song unsung, a book not read, of a baby not birthed. Get some help from others and finish what you've begun.

ACTION STEP:  We all begin a new thing as a novice. There are many things we don't know. It is in the process that we begin to learn enough that when we are through a thing, we can show others the way.

Find your people. Find the five people that are supposed to be the closest to you, and ask them questions. Help them, keep you accountable. Learn the ropes from someone who has already climbed them, fallen off them, and got back up and reached the summit.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.

Revelation 20:12
"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books."

Revelation 13:8
"All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world."

Revelation 17:8

"
The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come."
Picture
The Book of Life (also called The Lamb’s Book of Life) is a record containing the names of those who have overcome sin through accepting Jesus as Christ (having a spiritual rebirth). In other words, the Book of Life is the names of the redeemed—those who will live with God forever in heaven.

I cannot put in this Blog everything I have studied on the Book of Life or The Lamb's Book of Life but I can tell you this, we want our name to be there. I believe we all need to graduate from being Babes in Christ living on the milk of the Word of God and start studying to show ourselves approved, rightly discerning the Word of God. It is impossible not to find lots of information on the subject, by just doing a Google Search. If you need help just ask your pastor or contact me.

Luke 1:38
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her."

Picture
It's so interesting how one life changes so many others. What we do as individuals affects many more lives, and so our decisions matter. When God calls a person He sees ahead at all the lives that will be impacted by that one person, answering the call of God.

It is very interesting that when I was pregnant and carrying my daughter, I was also carrying my granddaughter. How could that be? Because my daughter was born with all the eggs she would carry in her lifetime. My granddaughter Rena Grace was one of those eggs my daughter was born with. Had I chosen not to have children, or not to give birth to my daughter, my granddaughter would not be here.

Every decision you make will ultimately touch someone else's life. You and I may not know the other person, we may know the other people intimately, but only God and time will reveal. That being said, when God calls us to obey there is more at stake than we can see or know. That is why the school of the Spirit is so needed. We learn to trust and obey. Your "yes' may hold a thousand "yes's" for generations to come.

I never knew saying, "yes" to Bible College all those years ago had inside of it a "yes' for a Bible College in Ghana, but God did. Decisions matter, to all the Ghana students, my obedience held their dream of graduating from an International School of Ministry, so that they could fulfill the plan of God for their life.

ACTION STEP: Start this year off with saying, "Yes." Yes, to God may be a "No," to something else you want to do. Say "Yes," anyway. Continue your education and prepare to graduate from the school of the Spirit. Obedience purifies your soul. The best way to get cleaned up is to obey God fully. In God's perfect will there is perfect peace.

2 Timothy 2:15
" Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Picture
With the new year, comes many decisions. We know that without Christ we are like waves of the ocean cast about. We have no direction. The devil directs our steps in the direction of destruction. The Bible tells us that the people of God parrish for a lack of knowledge. ("My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."Hosea 4:6)

When we are young in the Lord or brand new babes in Christ, we often want to do better serving the Lord, and living a life that pleases God, we simply do not know how. This is why it is important to let go of EGO (stands for pride of Edging God Out.) This is where trust comes in my friend. We have to trust that those that are further along in their journey with Christ, know more than we do. We have to trust that they have our best interest at heart. For many of us, this is hard, if not all but impossible. We've been hurt and wounded, and have no idea how much God loves us. We have no idea, that the people He places in our life, just want us to make it. We may want to argue and second guess, but the best thing to do is to simply, "Let go and let God." I know it will be hard, but trust God loves you. God knows best, and He is using others to help get us, to where we need to be.

Money answers all things.

1/21/2022

Psalm 24:1
"
The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,"
Picture
Money answers all things. Whatever your need is, money will answer it. But if it hasn’t already answered a need–e.g. your tithe, rent, mortgage payment, electric bill, grocery bill, or savings–then it’s still going to answer something, and that something will inevitably be something you’ll wish later that it hadn’t answered.

Even though money isn’t an essential thing in your life. A significant portion of your life will revolve around earning, saving, giving, and spending money. So your relationship with money isn’t something you can just brush aside as unspiritual or unnecessary.

Here are nine things you need to know about money:

  • God owns everything
  • Money is a tool
  • We worship with our money
  • There is a war over our money
  • Greed in our heart has to be crucified
  • Be mindful of debt there is good and bad
  • Manage your finances biblically
  • More money, more problems
In short, money is a medium of exchange. It’s an agreed upon item you can use to make a purchase, trade, or pay off a debt. The medium of exchange will differ in many countries. What is more, the use of money makes it a whole lot easier to get what you need instead of having swap your pet dog for a box of cereal.

Here’s something you need to know about money: Bible verses or not, money is amoral.

Money doesn’t have a life. It cannot act on its own. It cannot do good deeds, and it cannot commit crimes. Basically, it’s neither good or bad. No matter how many bible verses about money there is.

Money can only do what you tell it to do.

Money is not the root of all evil. But the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10).

The bottom line is this, if God is more than fire insurance (Savior) but you have made Him Lord (Master), then all you have is God's, including your money. And if He is your Lord He calls the shots in all your life, which includes the life (Time) we exchange for a paycheck (Money). God owns it all and we have given Him (God) the right to tell us what He wants done with it. And one of the first things He tells us to do with our money is tithe. If He is Master, then we will obey; if not we will negotiate.

When we make Christ more than fire insurance, and make Him Master our world will begin to open to all the things our heart desires...its just a matter of obedience.

ACTION STEP:  God put desires in your heart. A coach can help you find those desires and dreams that have been buried by fear, doubt, unbelief, failures, abandonment, and anything else the devil has thrown at you.

It is never too late for your dream to become a reality. I know I can help you find some of the answers you've been searching for. I found a coach to help me find a way to help others, and in searching for a way to help others I found hope for myself. We can't give others what we don't first have ourselves. God has a wonderful way of blessing His children with not what they want, but what they need.

You are not reading this by accident. Male or female, young or old, educated or a drop out, God has a plan and purpose for your life. God has gifted me with the ability to find the gold in people's lives. The Lord has lead me to discover ways of uncovering the pain of people's past to bring finances and success into their present, and make a into way their future.

Fasting and Focus. How do you measure up?

1/20/2022

“The deepest need of men is not food and clothing and shelter, important as they are. It is God.”
Picture
Sometimes when you eat, your body uses the food and goes into a bit of overdrive, depending on what you have consumed. Overactivity of the brain can be a bad thing because there is too much firing off. There isn’t one thing that your brain can really focus on to properly function.

Fasting may cause your body to go into survival mode, as mentioned earlier, forcing your brain to have more focus on certain tasks at hand. I find the first three days I struggle, usually with a headache. After the initial cleansing phase I do great until about day eleven, then I may find difficulty in searching for words, but I can comprehend what I read or study far better. Everyone is different. Try fasting and see how it affects you.

The changes that happen in your brain during fasting are the same that happens when you are exercising. In layman terms, brain power can increase significantly for a certain time period. By the end of my twenty-one day fast I could care less about whether I eat or not. Usually, God has done so much for me and in me I could go on fasting. When I return to eating my portion size has drastically decreased.

Hebrews 10:35
"Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward."

Picture
We were all little once. We all had dreams. Life has a way of stealing our dreams or burying them under fear, low self-esteem, failure and even weariness. But it's never too late to dream again. God says in His word that he gives us the desires of our heart. (Psalm 37:4)

Dreams can be rekindled. Sometimes we only need to give ourselves permission to go back and pick them up. Try remembering what you loved to do as a child. What did you want to be or do when you grew up? What did you first try to go for in college? Before you were married or divorced, or arrested or busted, what was the one thing you said you were going to do?

These are all clues to our dream. You can try turning on some music from your childhood and ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your remembrance what you were created for? Ask Him, "God what was I created for? What is my purpose? Then quietly wait for Him to answer you. He is never late, rarely early but always right on time.

What do we have an appetite for?

Hebrews 5:12-14
"For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
Picture
I don’t know about you, but I sure do like a thick, juicy steak every once in awhile. But with the current price of beef being sky high, it’s a rare treat. Drinking milk is another thing altogether. I consider milk a breakfast drink, something I rarely drink for lunch or dinner. I like milk with my cereal. Paul, the Apostle, mentioned “meat” and “milk” in two separate books of the Bible, 1st Corinthians and Hebrews. Paul contrasts “milk” and “meat” to make an important spiritual analogy.

If we use the Bible to interpret itself, the words “meat” and “strong meat” refer to deeper, more complex Christian teachings. However the word “milk” refers to the basics of Christian teaching.

I don’t know about you, but I want all of the Word of God, both the milk and the meat. I want to rightly divide the Word of truth. I want the scriptures to reveal themselves to me. Prayer and systematic study are the keys to feasting on the “meat” of God’s Word.

ACTION STEP: Look at the word of God as life sustaining food. Imagine your are only as strong as the word of God that you consume. Why? Because in actuality that is your true strength, the amount of the word you consume.

Start your own Bible study by researching keywords that are a struggle for you or of interest to you. Right now I am deeply involved in a study, on the word, "Abandonment." Yours might be, your "One Word" for the year. Whatever it is start now.

Perhaps you are struggling financially, physically or even mentally, a coach can help. How do I know? Because I came to a point in my life where I needed help. I got a coach and things began to change for me. They can for you too. Make an appointment by going to www.renaperozich.com and schedule your first session.

Seeing church as a classroom not a revolving door.

1/17/2022

2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Picture
Americans treat church like a product to consume instead of as a family to belong. When we treat church like a product, we consume until our needs are no longer met. When we treat church like a family, we fundamentally understand there are no perfect churches. Like family, every church comes with broken people. That includes the church leadership.

Most of the time when someone leaves a church, it’s because a minor issue has grown into a monumental issue to the person or people involved.

In all my years of pastoring, I’ve never heard of someone who left a church because the pastor suddenly changed his theology and adopted snake handling worship practices. If a pastor suddenly changes his theology and tells the church to sell everything and move to the mountains for Jesus’ return (insert date here and beware of Kool-Aid), you should leave.

Too often people leave a church because of disagreement, not getting their way, or because the sermons are no longer deep enough. Often when we dig into the reason the sermons are not deep enough, it ultimately goes back to the person being offended or not having their faulty theologies endorsed from the pulpit. The same pastor who was previously deep enough becomes shallow once there is an offense. It’s incredibly difficult to hear from God in a sermon when we are offended by the person delivering the sermon.

Offenses will come. If they don't and we really want to leave and go do our own thing, we will find one. Church is a classroom, not just on Sunday morning but all week. It's doing life with the people we see on Sunday. It's laughing and agreeing at picnics. It's taking turns working in the nursery or being a chaperone at the youth bonfire or lock-in. It's when your kids, give the other kids the flu, or hand me downs, and your grateful or ticked off. But, all the while allowing God to form your character and teach you to love and forgive. It's spending years with the same people. It's going to weddings, baby showers, engagement parties, and funerals. All the while allowing God to keep you in the tumbler called church, knocking the rough spots off of you and the other guy. It's learning that people are there for you.

The church is a classroom. When you disconnect from church you disconnect from your life lessons. Soon we can find ourselves isolated and alone. We have no one to discuss the word of God and may even adopt a more selfish and incorrect doctrine.

To view the video below if it does not show up in your browser:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4WcHAgafGU
ACTION STEP:  Stay connected to a local church. Get involved. Maybe you're at the point in life that you can donate lots of time? Or maybe you are a the stage where you need a lot of help? It doesn't matter what stage you come into a church. What matters is that you come. Stages of life will change. You and I will change. The only thing that remains the same is the word of God, and the word of God will change us all.

Find a church and stay put. Learn something. Teach something. Become something. Leave a legacy by making memories so beautiful that your name will remain alive in the mouth of others long after you have gone.
