We are told that when John Huss was arrested and informed that he would be burned to death for his faith, he purposely practiced holding his hand over fire to prepare for his final test. He burned himself in preparation. He wanted to be faithful to the end. ACTIONS STEP: What can we practice today that will prepare us for what God has planned for us? Do that!

Let me begin by sharing this story with you, "School was just beginning. One morning I went out to start my car, to go to church. Flat tire. Lucky, I had a spare. I changed tire quickly and was on my way. I didn't think to drop the spare tire off to be fixed. "I'll get around to it." Within five days, I went out to the car to go to school. Another flat. Only this time no spare! I had to roll the tire to nearest station and wait while it was fixed. When something breaks, fix it now. Don't wait until you need it and then don't have it!" When I read this I thought of the number five. Five means grace. Sometimes, we can run out of grace if we are not being obedient to do what God is telling us to do. Many of us start out prepared, but somewhere in the middle we think we can just stop preparing. We think once and done. Life, whether we are talking natural or supernatural is not like that. We have to continually prepare. It's the preparation that makes all the difference. Read this one: Several centuries ago, a Japanese emperor commissioned an artist to paint a bird. A number of months passed, then several years, and still no painting was brought to the palace. Finally the emperor became so exasperated that he went to the artist's home to demand an explanation. Instead of making excuses, the artist placed a blank canvas on the easel. In less than an hour, he completed a painting that was to become a brilliant masterpiece. When the emperor asked the reason for the delay, the artist showed him armloads of drawings of feathers, wings, heads, and feet. Then he explained that all of this research and study had been necessary before he could complete the painting. Sometimes, I don't think we give the Bible enough weight in our lives? Do we take the Bible at its word and actually apply it to our life? Here are some scriptures that talk about "Prepare" in one form or another. Please take time to read through them and let the scriptures speak to you. Leviticus 2:8 You shall bring to the Lord the grain offering that is prepared in any of these ways; and when it is presented to the priest, he shall take it to the altar. Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions of them to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Isaiah 40:3 A voice cries out: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Malachi 3:1 [ The Coming Messenger ] See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight—indeed, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. Matthew 3:3 This is the one of whom the prophet Isaiah spoke when he said, “The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.’” Mark 1:3 the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’” Luke 1:76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, Luke 3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah, “The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” King James Version (KJV) There is more to see in a day at the Museum of the Bible. From the greatest to the most unknown, lives have been touched by the Bible . Above see the Bible that belonged to Elvis Presley and the music CD that he did while inspired by the Bible. ACTIONS STEP: Read the Bible today. Tomorrow may be too late.
I am back home and enjoyed a wonderful service at our church yesterday. It was my birthday! We had visitors and cake. Two, of the most wonderful things in life--after all are people and food, right? My little men, as I tenderly refer to them, brought me bouquets of flowers. These flowers reminded me of when my daughters were little. I was showered with love from so many, and I am grateful for those I get to do life with. Thank you. Later this week, I will tell you more about Avalanche, a women's conference I attended this past Friday and Saturday. But today, we talk more about the Museum of the Bible. It was truly life changing. I am still thinking about all that I learned, saw, and experienced. Action Step: Plan a family trip now to the Museum of the Bible. Here is the information link: https://www.museumofthebible.org You will learn so much of the what and why's, of why America, and the world are as they are. The Bible has changed the world, the music, the clothing, the printing, and just about everything we see, and do. There is one area of the Museum dedicated to how that has happened, and I will show you some more pictures. So until tomorrow...
For the last two days I have been sharing my experiences from the Bible Museum. Last night Pastor Teresa Verdecchio opened up her conference "Limitless" her ninth Womens conference, put on by the Womens group EPIC she founded ten years ago. As I watched her bring forth the word with fire, I could see George Whitefield. I wanted to post a video I filmed while at the Museum in Washington, DC. on here today for your viewing to best describe what I mean by this statement. However, I have slow reception here at Sandy Cove, MD, and was unable to post. So, look forward to it on Monday of this coming week. Today, I will share this one from John Wycliffe. We have many many and women to thank for all they have done to provide us with the Word of God. Let us read it daily, and pray for revival within in our hearts, that we too--will be able to give to the world, hope, healing and a way out of this world alive. ACTION STEP: Thank God for all the translations we have. Refuse to take the Bile for granted. Read the contents within the Bible, knowing that many gave their life for what we often let collect dust upon the shelf. Reach out to hear anointed preaching. If you are in the Philadelphia PA area don't miss the opportunity to attend a service a New Destiny Christian Center in Ridly, PA. https://www.newdestinyofphilly.com
Some people would love owning one of these, if only to prove they are innocent. Who even knew such a Bible existed? We all make mistakes, but I must admit this is a pretty big one. Many Bibles however, have changed lives and were the "Good Book" if you will and men tried to destroy them, and any succeeded. Here below is the reason many were burned. I know in my spirit this could become a reality yet again. ACTION STEP: Pray that the Bible will continue to be spread across the world. Pray for those of us that preach the Gospel, will be safe and successful. Pray that men and women everywhere will hear and repent. Prayer changes things, us being one of the first things to change. Once the word changes us, we through the power of God can change the world.
Today, I had a great opportunity to go to the Bible Museum in Washington, DC. It far exceeded my expectations. I was overwhelmed with the amount of information and artifacts within the walls of that building. At one point I just broke down and cried. For the rest of the week I plan to share with you some of my own experiences and photos. When I visited the Billy Graham headquarters in the summer I learned about the Slave Bible. I had never been taught or told that such a Bible existed. Today I got to see it. Here are some of my photos. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28 I was so grieved that anyone would want to keep another person from knowing the Word of God or from knowing Jesus came to set all men free regardless of our race, or color. The video below is a real shocker! Hobby Lobby is a major funder. ACTION STEP: Do what you can to learn truth. Stand for truth. Model truth. Vote for our schools to teach history--and the Bible is a huge part of that history. Read the word of God for yourself.
2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version (KJV) "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Why is it that history becomes more important as we get older? I have a birthday this month as well, so that got to thinking about Presidents Day. I always looked forward to shopping. It was always a time I spent my Birthday money because I got more for my money. The real reason for the holiday is to honor the men that have lead our country in times of crisis. It's not a day we got off work to play, but to pay tribute to those who have served our country in the highest office. I can only imagine the weight they must carry and the cost their families incur. Let's take some time to pray for those in office, especially our president and his family. Regardless of your political stance the Bible tells us to pray for those in authority that it would go well with us. 1 Timothy 2:2 "for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." Did you know? President's Day never falls on the actual birthday of any American president. Four chief executives—George Washington, William Henry Harrison, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan—were born in February, but their birthdays all come either too early or late to coincide with Presidents Day, which is always celebrated on the third Monday of the month. ACTION STEP: This is a great song to teach your children and grandchildren. Let us not forget what is important. Freedom was costly. We appreciate what those that have gone ahead of us, have fought and died for. Pass it on....less we forget. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." The things we don't know can truly hurt us. The problem arises when what we don't know, also hurts the people we love. For example, a husband and wife who both have past hurts and issues marry, and have children. Then, due to their lack of knowledge in handling the brokenness in one another, end up breaking their own children--who grow up and do the same. Many of you that have been with me awhile, know that I often say, "Wounded people -wound people". Why? Because they are bad people? No, because they are broken people. It may take many years to understand why you feel the way you do. It may take being married, and your partner seeing something and pointing it out, before you are able to recognize it. Whatever it takes, it is what God wants to do. God's desire is that we be whole. We were all like Mephibosheth. We were dropped in the original Fall when Adam fell. Here below, is the story in case you are new to the Bible, or missed the story in your reading of the Bible: Mephibosheth was the son of Jonathan, who was the son of King Saul and a special friend of King David. When Mephibosheth was five years old, his father Jonathan was killed in battle. Fearing that the Philistines would seek to take the life of the young boy, a nurse fled with him to Gibeah, the royal residence, but in her haste she dropped him and both of his feet were crippled (2 Samuel 4:4). He was carried to the land of Gilead, where he found refuge in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar. Lo-debar means-without pasture. This is our state when we have no Shepherd, or we refuse to follow those that God has placed in our life. It is a place where we fend for ourselves. God has always intended to meet our needs according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19) If you feel like an Orphan, or that everything you will ever have depends on you? You may be feeling the effects of the Fall? The second Adam came to restore us to our rightful place in Christ, where He is our Father, and our Provider, our Shelter and the Lover of our souls. No one can take God's place. If you're looking for God a man or a woman won't fill that void. Only God, can make us whole again. Only God, can heal a broken heart. Two broken people don't make a healthy marriage. A healed man and a healed woman submitted to God and His plans for their marriage, is what it takes to be successful in life, and in the life of generations to come. ACTION STEPS: Ask yourself if what your spouse has been telling you is true? Think about the relationship issues that keep reoccurring in your life? Might there be something you don't know? If the answer is yes, then spend some time with God asking Him to not only heal you, but reveal to you where, and when you you're dropped? What we don't know can hurt us.
