Raising Kings

"Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value the one who speaks what is right." (Proverbs 16:13)

Each year I host a woman's intensive. I call it an "Intensive" because it is just that--it's an intensive three days and nights of training, coaching, mentoring and pouring everything I am and everything I have into the women that come to invest in themselves. I hold nothing back. I give them my all. Christ gave His all and held nothing back. I imitate Him and He makes me an original.

If I in any way attempt to be anyone or anything else other than what God has created me to be I know that I will fail miserably and I will fail those that I am pouring my life into. I heard Steven Furtick put it this way, "God can't bless who you pretend to be.

God gave me a mandate to raise kings because He is returning as the King of Kings. If this sounds like something you want to be apart of you can register at www.remarkablewoman.org

Come learn and be tweaked to become all God has called you to be and leave the pretending up to the actors!

Being called a "Turkey" is not a compliment.

Quit being such a "Turkey". We have all heard the term but what does it mean? Ask someone what being a "Turkey" means and you will get lots of varied answers. The best I could find with the help of Urban Dictionary is-"Someone acting silly or a clueless person." These definitions were far kinder than some of the other definitions.
Picture
However, I have been living in the country for a time, while my home is updated, and, repaired, and, I am learning far more than I ever cared to learn about "Turkeys". Let me share with you what this "City Girl" has observed.
  • They strut and act very cocky and proud
  • They are territorial
  • They dance a very peculiar dance
  • For some strange reason they like to kick around dirt
  • They hide when they hear an unfamiliar noise
  • They duck and jive (here I am and then I'm gone) (don't want me to see them)
  • They can be deceived easily
  • They are not very smart
From the above I have decided I know a lot of "Turkeys". I am referring to people that have all the same, observed, characteristics I just shared. Watch this footage. It is entertaining at the end for sure.
Today: Don't be a "Turkey"! The enemy sets out decoys to try to lure us into being a stupid turkey. Satan waits to be trick us, and bait us, by what lures us into situations. The Bible tells us to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Today, I'd like to add my version, "Don't be a stupid "Turkey" and get taken out by the enemy of our souls."  Instead as the word says, "Watch and pray". Stay humble and meek. Do not allow what's inside of you to lure you into danger.

Action Step: Don't be like a "Turkey". Be a real Christian, and be led of the Holy Spirit, because He will lead you into all truth and keep you safe.

Be an anchor for someone in the storm.

Expectation and reality are two totally different things. With the recent storms we have experienced I was wondering what people were expecting. Perhaps in reality all they cared about was surviving, and the survival of those they love. When they went home, the reality of everything being gone was not so bad, because they only expected to survive. The people they loved survived. Others expected to come through unscathed, and everything to be perfect. When they returned to what was their home, and nothing was left, their reality never matched their expectations. When this occurs disappointment, depression and discouragement can set in.

2Chronicles 15: 7 (NIV) "But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.”
Picture
We can't choose everything that happens to us. We can choose what we do, and how we feel about what happens to us. We can choose to believe that God will work all things out for our good, because we are loved. God is a good, good Father. God wants the best for us. The devil can take his best shots but God is greater. The sun will shine again. There is a third day resurrection awaiting those that believe.
Picture
Remember that this life is temporary. Stuff is just stuff. We didn't bring anything into this world, and we certainly cannot take anything with us when we leave this earth.

I had a house fire once. We lost it all. We didn't have a house or a toothbrush or a bed or anything...but we had each other. Throughout the months ahead we learned the value of what we had left, and God returned unto us everything, and then some. He is a God of abundance.

So, if you or someone you love has experienced loss in these storms, or just in the storms of life, share this with them. Be an encourager to them, or just a sounding board for them, and an anchor in their future they can reach out to, if they need one. Storms come to all of us. They come to some of us more than others, and with greater severity. However, everyone needs an anchor that holds.

Where are you planning on spending forever?

9/12/2017

There is something really special about having your children spend the night with you, after they've grown up and moved away. It was even more special last night when my little one year old grandson spent the night with us. It made me feel close to God. I felt in my heart that God was saying that He is looking forward to us spending forever with Him. God wants us in His house too.
Picture
So when it came time to finally go to bed my lil man, all he wanted was his mommy and daddy. Oh sure, we had the good stuff, the milk, the blanket, but, he wanted those closest to his heart. No matter how great Heaven is going to be, we will still want those we love to be there with us.

Spending the night is one thing, spending eternity is another. It's fun spending the night at a special place. It's wonderful to sit in fancy chairs and sleep in really fluffy comfy beds, but nothing is going to compare to Heaven. It is especially made, with us in mind.

So, let's really spend some time asking God what He would have us to do to get all the little ones He loves to find their way to the home He has prepared for them.
John 14:3 (NIV) "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

"Bee" tenacious! and Be that in all you do.

The tenacity of the Bee amazes me. Think about it. They fly into your car and then bag their heads against the windshield frantically trying to bang their way through. Then they go from side to side fervently trying to find a way out. Most of the the time they are successful. Why? Because the are tenacious.
Picture
Today-Be Tenacious! Look for ways to live a godly life in an ungodly world. Give your job all you've got. Give your family all you've got. "Bee" present in all you do. Eventually we will find our way out of this world into a much better place.
Short Blog again today: Please use the time to pray for those being affected by the storms and for their properties and belongings. Amen.
Picture
Also today please take time for a moment of silence and listen to see what God would have you to pray concerning 9/11. We will not forget! We pray for all those who lost those they love...and for what we lost as Americans.

The common cold and sin.

9/8/2017

If sin were like a cold we would have a lot less sin. Or would we? Is there some similarities between a cold and sin? I think so. Let me explain. When you have a cold it affects your entire life. When you have a cold you can affect everyone around you. If you are aware that you are contagious however, and stay away from others, and not touch them, you can protect them from getting what you have. We don't however usually sin alone. I have been battling a cold, so I haven't been touching anyone, or getting close to anyone. I know what I have can potentially harm them. When people are in a lifestyle of sin everything they do is a potential danger to others. The difference is they usually don't care if they hurt others, and want to be contagious if you will.
Picture
Now think with me about how a cold affects your body. The virus doesn't just stay in your nose, or only affect your throat, no, it affects every part of your body. You may cough and those germs go through the atmosphere for others to breath. We can allow someone to use our cell phone, or our laptop, and transfer the germs in that manner. When we have a cold we are contagious, and it affects our entire body like sin affects our entire body, and not just our body, but the Body of Christ.
Just like the common cold affects our entire body, sin affects the entire body of Christ. Sin spreads. When we protect ourselves from sinning we can better able protect the Body of Christ from sinning. Sick people make people sick. Only healthy people can help to make others healthy. We need to model a godly lifestyle for others. We need to be proactive in what we believe. Our sin free life enables others to believe they can live a sin free life as well.
John 8:36 (NIV) "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Continue to use this time to pray for the storms to turn away from the US, and surrounding areas and turn their hearts to Jesus.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

The prayers of the righteous availeth much.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey our hearts go out to all those who have lost homes, or loved ones in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in the USA. May God strengthen and encourage all during this time. This also being on the verge of whatever Irma holds I want to spend the time I would spend writing this Blog and and ask you to pray, and I will do the same.  The time you would spend reading this please pray for all involved in the path of Irma.

Mark 4:35-New International Version (NIV) That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.  A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places. You inspire awe and fear. Thy saints obey with fear and trembling, and thine enemies flee in dismay. From thy threefold courts, and especially from the holy of holies, thy majesty flashes forth and makes the sons of men prostrate themselves in awe.
The God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. In this thou, who art Israel's God by covenant, art terrible to thy foes by making thy people strong, so that one shall chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight. All the power of Israel's warriors is derived from the Lord, the fountain of all might. He is strong, and makes strong: blessed are they who draw from his resources, they shall renew their strength. While the self sufficient faint, the All sufficient shall sustain the feeblest believer.

Who do you resemble?

9/5/2017

I actually got to hang out in the Nursery Sunday morning. I am always looking forward to the little ones in our church. I love seeing them go from new borns, to toddlers, all the way up to teens. When I look at them I can see their parents resemblance. Many of our little ones are all blonds and just learning to walk and talk. Along with their physical growth they are learning to talk and share. Sometimes the talking is much easier than the sharing. They know what belongs to them and who they belong to. Which brings me to todays Blog. Do we know what belongs to us and who we belong to?
Picture
We can go by physical traits and certain inherited or mimicked behavior traits to match up a child with it's parents. However, it is the same way with us spiritually. The Bible tells us when we see Jesus we will be like Him.
1 John 3:2 (NIV) "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."
God wants us to grow up. I believe He enjoys watching us learn and become all that He has called us to do and become. However, I believe what brings Him the most joy is when He can see Himself in us.

Action Step: Today aim to be Jesus with skin on. Ask yourself when you are about to act on something, "What would Jesus do?" and then choose that action for yourself.

  • Heartily means "with all our heart, all our strength, all that is within us." ...
  • As Christians we are exhorted to work as unto the Lord in any and everything we do. ...
  • When we work, we work as for the Lord and not for men.
