Revelation 19:9 (ESV) “9 And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
Is it any wonder that my heart beats a little faster when the family of God joins together to share a meal. Oh, the surroundings aren’t as glorious as heaven I am certain. We still have bad news here on earth. Two people in our congregation lost loved ones within the last 24 hours and yet here we were eating and talking and wanting to be together. How much more so will Heaven be heaven with no evil, not even a shadow?
With Thanksgiving right around the corner think about how blessed you are that you will be at that Marriage Supper of the Lamb. You and I can be grateful that we know the host of Heaven and He knows us by name. There is a celebration coming that will out shine the brightest of all dining experiences. We will be seated with those that have gone on before us and have heard the Master say, “Well done thy good and faithful servant enter in…”
When I talk with other folks they don’t even care for then title, “Homecoming” it reminds them of high school and not so pleasant memories. I was on the Homecoming court and remember my mother coming in from out of town and her buying me a new outfit. I felt beautiful as I walked out on that field with flowers in hand. Even though I wasn’t chosen to be the queen I was on the court, which was good enough for me.
Yes, just to be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will be good enough for me. I can’t wait to see the faces of all those I love and have only read about in the Bible. Oh what a day of rejoicing that will be.
