A gift from the devil makes you a slave to your enemy.

Ziklag is a place of human mistakes.
1 Samuel 27: 6-7
"
So Achish (his name means anger) gave him Ziklag that day. Therefore Ziklag has belonged to the kings of Judah to this day. Now the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was one full year and four months"

David knew better. The Philistines were the enemy. Goliath was a Philistine. Don't move in with the enemy you once defeated. Nothing is free when it's from the devil!

David loses everything in a place called Ziklag.

The attack from the enemy is coming from every side to try to disarm Gods children.

Christians have forgotten to occupy until Jesus comes. Society is doing its very best to emphasize that Christians should be quiet, less we offend someone--and that is secular Christianity which is the "new norm."

The Apostle Paul warned Timothy of these days in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “Don’t be naïve. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches people are going to be self-absorbed, money hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderous, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated, windbags, addicted to lust and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they are animals. Stay clear of people.” The Message

Today, we can see similarities of our battle in the story of a "future king", David when he loses everything at a place called Ziklag.
Six things we can see about David that we need to have to be an Overcomer in this day.
  1. Walks in Love. David’s name means beloved. We need the revelation that we are loved. God loves us and we are anointed to spread that love.
  2. Overcomes rejection. Jesse had 7 sons and Samuel was to go anoint one of them as king. David’s father doesn’t even think enough of his son to bring him to the prophet. David was 17 at the time. The last day Christian has no time to be beat down by rejection or lack of approval. Get our approval from God.
  3. Is a Giant Killer. I may be young, I may not have been trained by the big name ministries, but I have new ideas, new paradigms and new strategies. I didn’t come to do things the religious way it’s always been done. Speak as though the enemy is already defeated. Faith will always out fight fear! Be a possibility thinker. David saw a giant so big he couldn’t miss him. Everyone else saw a giant too big to be conquered.
  4. Does everything in excellence. Three levels of achievement inferiority, mediocrity, and superiority. Excellence is your best. Daniel 6:3 NKJV “ Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.” Work your very best in all you do as unto the Lord. Talk faith and then do it.
   5.  Overcomes persecution. From 1 Samuel 19 through 1          Samuel 26 King Saul is hunting down David. David has            every reason to defend himself and even kill   Saul. But,           David is not only a Giant Killer he is a problem solver. A           Giant is any big stronghold in your life.  A giant is a                 behavioral problem you can’t shake or overcome.  2

Corth. 10:3-5 NKJV “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”  David killing Goliath shows us that through the enabling power of God we are David and the giant is whatever we are confronting. Jesus through us can kill that giant by His grace and power. Without him we can do nothing. Without us He won’t.

  6.  Is a Worshipper and a Praiser. Not afraid to lift their           hands, shout and dance. Praise is when you thank God             for what He has done. Worship is when you thank God             for who He is. Demons flee because of our intimacy with         the Lord and our obedience.  Mark 4:23-25  “ If anyone           has ears to hear, let him hear.” Then He said to                       them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure         you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear,         more will be given. 25 For whoever has, to him more will          be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has          will be taken away from him.” The more you obey the              more God will give you. Great discernment and greater            anointing. Deliverance anointing comes from a higher              form of obedience and discipleship.
Many times the battles of our present are the seeds of              our past.
