What are "spoils of war?" Spoils are defined as plunder, loot, or goods taken in battle by the victors. Did you ever think of all that you obtained when you have won a battle against the devil? Many times in my life, I have come out of a battle bruised and beaten, head down and bloody, but I knew I would never find myself in that situation again. I could look back and know what I had done to bring me to that place of battle and I would then resolve not to go there again. Can anyone relate? Do you understand what I am saying?
Battles can bloody us. On the other side of the battle there is a blessing. I have decided that I agree with the Lord when He tells us He works all things for our good.
Romans 8:28 (NKJV) “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
If you are in the middle of the battle… keep fighting! Learn all you can from the experiences of battle so that when you emerge victorious you will be well versed in the tactics and tricks of the devil. Examine your life; look back to see where the devil gained entrance in the first place. How might you have done things differently had you known better? You can take comfort “the battle belongs to the Lord but what you get once the battle is won are spoils for you to bring glory back to the Lord.”
