“Don’t bit off more than you can chew.”
I didn’t even know what this meant. I thought I was supposed to take small bites while eating. Although l know that is true I’ve come to understand the meaning behind the saying. Don’t start something and not be able to finish it. Get your facts. Know what you are in for before you start to tackle a job. I remember once redoing my closet. I figured I could do it in a couple of hours. It took me 8 days. If you don’t what it takes to do a job you may be biting off more than you can chew.
This phrase is often used to discourage people from accepting or agreeing to more responsibility than they are able to manage.
Luke 14:28 NIV “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”
