I'm exhausted tonight, so I am overly sensitive to everything, especially sounds. As I write this my husband was boiling water for a hot cup of Cafix before heading to bed. At first I heard nothing. The hotter the water got the louder the sound it made. I was sitting in silence so it caught my ear. Then I heard in my spirit, "That's the way people are." "The more the heat gets turned up in their lives the more they cry out." As I sat there thinking about what I heard, I realized how very true it was. Sometimes they cry out in confusion and complaining. Others cry out for the Lord's help and intervention. Which do you do? I thought about all the times in my life where I'd done both. Then I thought about what made the difference? The difference was where my focus was. If I was focused on myself and what I thought, what I lost or what I wanted, I was just blowing off steam in all directions not caring who got steamed. Oh and by the way a steam burn hurts worst and takes longer to heal than other burns and can cause permanent damage. Proverbs 29:11 (NIV) "11 Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end." Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) "1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
