Proverbs 16:9 Contemporary English Version "We make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go." Change is scary. We want to be in control and have security, and when you are headed down a road that you've never been on before, a turn can catch you off guard. I have learned to prepare for the turns before they arrive. I anticipate change. I know it is inevitable if I live long enough. Think about it, we are born, we learn to crawl, become a toddler, then a youth, then a young adult, marry, have children of our own, and move on to our latter years prayerfully becoming a grandparent, and all the while leaving a legacy for others to follow. In order to navigate this progression on the road of life, we need to plan, but know in our hearts that God holds our time in His hands. Psalm 31:5 NET Bible You determine my destiny! Rescue me from the power of my enemies and those who chase me. ACTION STEP: In our little town someone busted through the gate at the FBI and was shot. He lost his life. I don't know why. There was nothing in our papers. However, I was grieved. Something was driving him. I learned a long time ago, Satan drives and Jesus leads. Satan says, "Get in and then takes control and won't let us out." Jesus says, "Follow me and I will make you..." Jesus never takes captives. Satan never lets his captives survive if he can. Today, ask God where you are going? Are you living life as a free agent, or as a slave? Who is in control of your life? The one in control determines the direction. Perhaps, it's time to change directions?
