Today we look at the last letter in the word Detox, "X". So far we have learned "D" discover what our loved ones triggers are, and make a conscious effort not to trigger them. The "E" empty the negative discouragement from our vocabulary, and instead encourage our loved ones. Then we talked about "T" spending time together. Finally we discussed "O" and how being optimistic, and over coming obstacles, can help all relationships to be stronger, and more resilient. Today Xray your own heart. Take a good look at your motives. What makes you do the things you do? Why are you less than enjoyable to be with? What's really going on in your emotions, and the deepest part of you that no one else sees? Most of us use a magnifier on others and sunglasses on ourselves. But, in order to make relationships work, we need to understand ourselves. What do we need? How do we want to be loved? What does that look like? Are we capable of being what the other person needs? Are we willing to sacrifice for the sake of the relationship?

If our desire is to have a relationship that isn't toxic, then the bottom line is we have to be healthy ourselves, and willing to do the work needed on ourselves first. We need to realize that all relationships are going to take a hundred percent. Most think relationships are fifty/fifty. Time will prove that sometimes the other person may be unable to give anything. At these times like these, the other person must be willing to give 100%. Then, as time passes the table may turn, and the other person will have the same opportunity.
God made relationships. God made through His son Jesus, the ability to have relationships that are loving, as well as lasting. If you have been going it alone? Go to Jesus, and ask Him to help you with your relationships. He is there to help. All we need to do is ask.
