Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. KJV
Momentum is a wonderful thing when it is working for you and a terrible thing when it is working against you. I fell not too long ago and broke my ribs. I was moving fairly fast, approaching my car to leave for a funeral, when I fell off my shoe and plummeted to the ground. Had I been a bit slower, I probably could have caught myself, but I was worried I would be late. Driven by fear of being late, I overly taxed my ability to maneuver the road beneath my feet. Isn't it interesting how just a little speed in one area can slow us way down in another? It took weeks before I could move quickly and breathe freely. I kept having little catches in my side. It hurt when I took a deep breath but those deep breaths were exactly what helped me heal so quickly. Today, think about the areas in which you feel hurried. Ask yourself, "Do I need to keep this up? Is this momentum helping me or hindering me?" We have all heard, “Haste makes waste.” Are you being driven or lead? Jesus doesn't drive, He leads. When you feel driven... stop. Take a few deep breaths.
Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. KJV

This is one of my favorite lessons I have learned from you Pastor Rena. I reflect on it often and most of the time when I am in a mess it's been because I was being driven instead of allowing Jesus to lead me.

I agree 100%, my grandmother would remind me, haste makes waste. I am learning to slow down. I also remember a sermon about being lead, not driven. Thanks PR

Pastor Rena, this is so insightful! It's so true! Many times I have, out of fear of being late, ect. made my journey more difficult than if I had just slowed down. Making momentum work for me is something that I have been working on here lately. This post is confirmation. Sorry you broke your ribs. Thank you for sharing!
