Hearing the voice of God part 3.

“Every leader will be tested by pain.”

  1.  We need to be under authority. Here I am you called me. Doesn’t matter what our spiritual authority tells us or asks of us, if it is not immoral or illegal. It doesn’t matter what time of day it may be. We need to bounce what we are hearing off of our leadership.
  2. We need to be in a house. Every house has a roof, this speaks of a covering. A covering from the storms of life and daily elements.  In the house is wear we are eing fed, being clothed. There is a bed in the house which is a sign of covenant.
  3. When we have question’s we need to go to our overseers. We don’t run or hide from our leaders but to our leaders, again regardless of the times.
    4. We need to be obedient to what we are told to do. No questions asked. Growing            up in the house of God is where we learn obedience. Jesus even said, "I only do what              my Father asks. Go back? Go lie down? Not what a young protégé’ wants to hear, “go              back, lie down.” But, our leadership is under authority too. God will deal with them. We            see in this story of Samuel and Eli that God used Samuel to deal with his spiritual father.
    5.  Then, we need to follow through with what God tells us. When God tells us to so           something even though it could possibly put us in harm’s way, we do it!. We must tell               our leaders the truth, the whole truth.
    6. We need to be in an intimate relationship with both our spiritual authority and        God. We don’t just sleep and eat in anyone’s home. We don’t just obey anyone. In the           spirit we do not know when we are most fertile. Even in the natural there is no conception       without intimacy. I am accustomed to my husband's walk, not just his verbal language,             because of our years of marriage and working together in ministry. Catch what’s on the           heart of God. We don’t necessarily have to close our eyes or have a dream. Each child of        God has a unique personal relationship with God. So some He will speak to through                impressions, others, open visions, thoughts, dreams…etc.
    7. We must stay in our position until leadership moves us. One of the ways God                talks to us is through dropping desire in to our hearts. Samuel desired to please His                Father. Samuel desired to hear the voice of God. Samuel would risk anything to hear and          obey the voice of God in his life. When he did that God promoted him. God will do the              same for you and I. We just need to do these 7 things and above all be obedient.

ACTION STEP: When you hear the voice of God remember the 7 things listed above and go through them. Then, tell the Lord (Lord means Master), "Speak I am listening." Here is a link for you to hear the entire message: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMZxGw_vuzA&t=5s    Read the story of Samuel in your Bibles found in 1 Samuel chapters 1-4 specifically, but you can search the Bible for more of his life and stories. Every leader will be tested by pain. Sometimes, it is painful living and serving under our leaders--serve anyway. Our times are in the hand of God. (Psalm 31)
