Two little men came to visit me yesterday. No, not my grandsons...well I guess they would be my spiritual grandsons. So anyways, they were so full of wonder. My big house--very big compared to their tiny little bodies, a huge garage with almost nothing in it, trains, pinball machines, stairs, big stools and a cup of chocolate milk and chocolate chip cookies, what could be better? A rock. A little tiny brown rock that the oldest one found on our walk. That rock was so important we had to turn around and wait on him to pick it up, and then what did he do? He brought the rock to me. He looked up at me and smiled, like he'd given me his last $100.00 bill. I melted. Here is a picture of my little rock giver. He is King of the Mountain.
I know, I know, I am in the middle of the teaching on the 12 Tribes of Israel. But, sometimes you just have to stop what you're doing and remind yourself that you are loved by God. God is excited to spend time with you and He desires you, to give Him what's in your hands. I invite you to walk with me today through my yesterday. He brought the rock to me. He looked up at me and smiled, like he'd given me his last $100.00 bill. I melted. Here is a picture of my little rock giver. He is King of the Mountain. After their visit I found the rock in my pocket. Just a brown rock. The earth is covered with these little things. As I held it in my hand though, I thought about that little boys hands. I thought about my hands. I thought about God's hands. We spend our entire lives picking up worthless little rocks and offering them to God. God...well His heart grows. My heart grew. Not because we gave Him something, He could get plenty of rocks for Himself with just a word from His mouth. But, when we choose to give what was in our hand, to Him, we are thinking of Him first. ACTION STEPS: Take a few minutes and let this song minister to you and remind you that you are loved. Embrace the world with the eyes of a child today. Go ahead pick up a rock and give it to someone you love. It's not the rock it's the thought!
