Jesus Principles (#3 in the Series)

Acts 20:35 (NIV) "35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

In the world in which we live we can get so caught up in the culture we forget the cause. Jesus lived with a purpose and it wasn't to accumulate things. In fact He gave up everything including His life for others. Too often we believe the lie that whoever has the most stuff wins, forgetting we came into the world with nothing and we take nothing with us when we leave, except the knowing that those we have won to Christ will one day meet us in eternity. However, many live for the moment rather than pay now so we can prosper later. We want it now. We want what we want more than we want what God wants.

Churchill said, "Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm." The day in which we live, if the going gets tough most quit. In the day in which Churchill lived 1874-1965, when the going got tough the tough got tougher. He lived and served through World War I and II. He gave his people strong leadership and and devotion.

Jesus modeled those qualities before His disciples and it changed not only their lives but it continues to change the lives of all who still choose to believe today.
