Today our quote comes from the first president of the United States. Washington is remembered for many things but one thing captured my attention. Washington held the American forces together by sheer strength of character. He was unanimously chosen to preside over the Constitutional Convention and elected as the country’s first President in 1789 and re-elected four years later.
Leaders are leaders not merely by their words but by their actions. What others see a leader do means far more than what they hear a leader say. Jesus was the greatest leader that ever lived and modeled his life in front of those he led. He served rather than demand to be served. He loved unconditionally and forgave without holding anything back.
Washington said, “Associate with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for it is better to be alone than in bad company."
