We have all been talking, a lot more on the phone. This can make communication difficult to say the least. We wonder if we got cut off when in reality the other person was just listening. We ask, "Are you still there?" This happens frequently when I am driving. I never know whether I am driving through a dead spot and lost the person, or they are still on the phone.
This happens most, when we I am busy or distracted. If I were sitting in my home and listening, not doing other things I would have more confidence in the fact that the other person is still there, and that they are tuned in to what I am sharing. I dare to say, that right now many of us are tuned in to the voice of God more than we have been for a long time. Why? Because there are not a lot of distractions. We are not running all over the place with no time to reflect. We are if you will, a captive audience. Many times God will take what the devil meant for evil and work it for our good.

ACTION STEP: Don't waste this time that you have been given. I know it may seem like something has been taken, but remember God has a way of turning things around. We see much clearer in hindsight than foresight. Take an account. What has got your attention? Are you tuned in or tuned out? Are you listening to the right voices or the wrong voices? Are you filtering what you are hearing through the Word of God? If not? Why not? Who or what has your attention? Usually, what has our attention--has our affection. Just because God is silent does not mean He is not listening, perhaps He wants to get our full attention. In order to fully listen, we must remain silent. If God seems silent right now--keep on talking He is listening intently.
