I keep this book on my shelf. It is tattered and frayed, but it is still filled with faith filled words that help me to stand up and brush off my armor. Time and trouble always revel the true commitment of people. We can be sailing along and then BAM! we find ourself on the ground. We don't even know what hit us. We are trying to get back up on our feet and as my parents always said, "Shake it off! You're okay." No, I'm not okay, but I obeyed my parents. Why? Because I think they know better. They are older, wiser and they love me, right? Not always. Sometimes, they just don't want to hear us cry. They want life to go on as usual. God doesn't want life as usual. God wants us to live supernaturally. We are not just to get up and shake ourselves off, but to brush off our armor, remove the sword from it's sheath and cut off the enemies head! We are not to just survive the battle but WIN the war!
Look at 2 Timothy 1:2 NKJV "To Timothy, a beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord." When we go through tough times it is good to know that God the Father, the same Daddy of Jesus, will give us His ability, His compassion and forgiveness when it's punishment we deserve, and peace, which is the freedom from disturbance, and in it's place tranquility. Today, in your combat zone God is with you supplying your every need.
Listen to this one: "Although it may look like the stormiest season of your life, the weather won't last long. If you are true to the fight, you will outlast the battle." Rick Renner
I don't know about you but this Pentecost Sunday I felt the flames. I know on the day of Pentecost Christians received the power. They already had the Holy Ghost because Jesus had breathed on them. One of the disciples had already had the word of wisdom. The work really started when they left that room. If we are as Christians are afraid of hard-work we will never get one thing done for the Kingdom of God. Rick said, "This is always what occurs during a fiery trail--the trial reveals the true depth of people's commitment." If we want to know our level of commitment then all we need to do is check our level of commitment. What has our heart? What has our time? What has our money? What has our engagement?
