Good morning friends. Thanks again for journeying through life with me here at RPMDaily Blog. Lately I have been studying the subject of the Fruit of the Spirit. Yesterday my husband shared on the attribute "Long-suffering". The scripture that he used was, Mark 9:19 (KJV) "He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me." I personally like the (NIV) translation. Mark 9:19 ""You unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me." Wow! You mean to tell me even Jesus suffered long? Absolutely.
Sometimes I feel like Jesus. How long do I have to put up with __________________ and you fill in the blank. It could be the man at work, the lady at the Post Office, your teenager, her mother, his ex-wife....whoever it is--how long? Truthfully the Bible tells us we long-suffer indefinitely. It is not about them it is about us. We are to be "Long-suffering." If we are a Christian then because we are rooted and grounded in Christ we pull out of our relationship with Christ what we need.
