The concept Zig is talking about is having a heart and life that is focused on serving other people. Life is best lived in service to others. If we try to out-serve one another we will always have a win-win scenario. Our society has become a “serve me” society not an “allow me to serve you society”. We have become a more “What about me and my feelings” than a “What about you and your feelings?” There are also those in our society that don’t love themselves. It’s difficult to love others when we don’t love our self.
Galatians 5:13-14 (KJV) “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Service is love in action. When we serve others we are being self-less. I like to think that there is less of us and more of Christ in us being displayed when we serve.
Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
The Son of Man-Jesus came to serve. The greatest man that ever lived-that was both God and man was a servant. Jesus is love. Jesus served. So Love serves. If you want to show love and receive love start by serving.
