Making a habit that will change your life.

I have been doing Daily Devotions since 1986. That was the first time I read through the entire Bible in a year.  It wasn't easy. I wanted to quit many times. I remember once reading through the book of Leviticus and thinking, "This is a really bloody book and I'm done with this." I called my pastor to tell her I was throwing in the towel all together or at least skipping the rest of this book. The revelation she shared with me about the blood got me through that book and I was able to finish.  My life has never been the same. I have used several devotions over the years. The one below is the one I am using currently with a few other ones I may share in a later blog.

Today's reading was about, "What to do when someone deliberately tries to malign your integrity, character and name." The scripture Rick Renner used was, 1 Corinthians 4:13.

1 Corinthians 4:13 (NIV) "when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world--right up to this moment."

I encourage you if you don't have this, to get a copy. It is a great devotional. I walk away everyday having learned something--something that sticks with me all day.

Today I kept rehearsing to myself, (it matters who I hang out with).  The reason I kept meditating on this is because the people we hang out with can cause us to think and act correctly or be a great detriment to us in our walk with Christ.  

I had just read Dr. Henry Clouds book, "The Power of the Other" and it came further to life to me after today's devotion.  The corner four people will tell you like it is. Perhaps I will share on this book later this week. But for today remember this,
