Seems, I often learn from my lil men, affectionately known as my grandsons. I teach them, and when I do, I often hear the Lord speak to me. Now, that my daughter is nearing the delivery of our first baby-belly grandchild, I am keeping the lil men once a week. I plan the day, and the activities, long before their arrival. That was something the Lord spoke to me about. The Lord said, "I plan for the arrival of all my children long before they arrive on earth. I have detailed plans and a purpose for each one of them." If you're like me? You never forget the things the Lord shares with you. God planned this day. God planned each of us. You and I are here, right now by design. Lessons come quick with these lil men. We have been working on math and science while quarantined. One way we do this is baking. These lil men are getting quite good at making bread, the un-kneaded kind. Well, since we have been doing drive-byes due to the COVID19 that is. I decided we would make small loaves of bread. This is a much more messy endeavor to take on. Both lil men had to grease up their hands to punch the risen bread back down, and roll it into rectangles, and then roll it back into smaller rolls for loaves. Neither liked having "messy", greasy hands. Both wanted to wash the grease off as soon as they put it on. It was only after a lesson in handling dough that they both realized the need for messy hands. Without greased hands, the dough couldn't be worked. If you tried to knead it, well it would just stick to you. Try to roll it with a rolling pin and it went everywhere--but where is was supposed to go. A lesson in "Why" was needed before we proceeded. "When I went to work on mankind, I had to get my hands messy too." I held back the water in my eyes so my lil men wouldn't think I was hurt. "Jesus", I said, "Thanks for choosing to have messy hands, so you could work on all of us." My lil men went to work for ten minutes on that dough until it, finally changed. My epiphany, "The dough became what it was destined to be, then He was broken for you and for me." ACTION STEP: Go ahead and get your hands messy. Go ahead and get involved in that unsaved loved one's life. Go ahead and tell that person, that messy thing that happened years ago, and that you are sorry. Go ahead and read the Bible. Find out what a mess we were, before Jesus came to get His hands messy. Go ahead and turn to Jesus with everything that you've been trying to make--come out right. He is an ever present help in times of trouble. Jesus is never afraid of getting in our mess so He can make something beautiful of our life. Jesus wants to make us into something He can hold in His hands, and give to the world, that was His plan long before we got here.
