Relationship not religion.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  
not giving up meeting together,
as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see 
the Day approaching."

Often times when I talk to people about what I do, or about church, they say, "I hate religion." It surprises them when I say, "I do too." They are not sure where to put me. I tell them they can put me wherever they want me. In the presence of Jesus and in relationship with Him there is no room for religion. Religion judges and causes performance that we can't keep up. Relationship allows us to be who God created us to be, warts, weaknesses, and walls. If we will just come to Jesus, He will take the whole package. When He gets a hold of us and calls us His, then He thinks we are just perfect. And He is right, we are made perfect in Christ.

Matthew 7:12 (NIV)
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,
​for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

ACTION STEP: Go ahead. Get gut with God. Let Him see you for who you are. Be honest. Tell Him how you feel. He already knows. He is wanting a relationship with you. He hates religion too. You both have that in common. Why not have His Son and salvation in common too? It will take a life time to get to know one another, that's why He made eternity. He never wants to be without you. That's true relationship...when we miss the ones we love enough to go where they go.
