What applies to national freedom, also applies to the freedom Jesus gives.

Hear what the Bible says about spiritual watchfulness:

Matthew 26:41 (NLT) "Keep alert and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you. For though the spirit is willing enough, the body is weak!"

1 Peter 5:8, 9 (NLT) "Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. Take a firm stand against him, and be strong in your faith."

Hebrews 2:1-3 (NLT) "So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. The message God delivered through angels has always proved true, and the people were punished for every violation of the law and every act of disobedience. What makes us think that we can escape if we are indifferent to this great salvation that was announced by the Lord Jesus himself?"

We've learned all week, that freedom isn't free. Freedom cost, and the price is usually a life. Jesus was willing to pay that price, so we don't have too. Accept the gift of freedom, that was purchased with the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus our Christ.
REVIEW The 3 Points:

POINT #1
THE PRICE OF FREEDOM

IS PERSONAL SACRIFICE

POINT #2
THE PRICE OF FREEDOM

IS PERPETUAL VIGILANCE:

POINT #3
THE PRICE OF FREEDOM

IS PERSONAL RESTRAINT:

Freedom was paid for on the cross. Jesus died on a cross to set us free, not so we could tether ourselves to our sins, not to live in them, but to remember them. To remind ourselves of the goodness of God and tell others of His saving grace.
ACTION STEP: Remind yourself that who the Son has set free is free indeed. Don't beat yourself up for what you did in your past. Ask god to forgive you and move on. Stop looking back. Rip off your rearview mirror and clean your windshield. We can't drive a car forward looking backwards any more than we can live the life that God has planned for us looking at how the devil used us to destroy ourself and others.

Kick the devil out of your thoughts by putting more of the Word of God in. Soon you will realize your truly are a new creature in Christ. Old things have passed away and all things have become new. Paul was once Saul. Israel was once Jacob. Abraham was once Abram. Sarah was once Sari.
Jerubbaal was once Gideon. God is in to changing us into His image. Let Him. The cage of guilt and shame has been opened, you are free to fly.
