“Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac…”
This week I am taking the opportunity to share with you from a recent “Reset” Woman’s Conference held in Denver, Co, and hosted by Loua Clair. Here I had the privilege of being the keynote speaker; but more importantly I had the opportunity to serve, share and socialize with Women of Faith. So, that being said, let’s look into God’s Word and see who had the opportunity for a Reset. The Conference focused on a Christians walk with God, and discovering if you are a Starter, Carrier and Finisher of the faith that is found within you. Truthfully, we are all called to identify when we need to RESET and the start again.
The teaching focused around the life of Jacob; you know the trickster/deceiver. A teaching based on Jacob’s dream that encourages us to trust God at difficult times of our life. God is with you.
Are you going through a sunset experience in life much like Jacob, and need a RESET?
Maybe, you had great expectations in life but now your dreams are shattered, you are far away from the promise and you are seeing the end of the day.
Please see Genesis chapter 28. Stop and go read the passage then, rejoin me in the teaching, you’ll have the opportunity to hear two messages. I one will be sharing the one I am exegeting and the one God is speaking directly to you. That’s Right! I will speak to you; and our Father wants to speak to you.
Jacob leaving his home, running for his life. He left home quickly. It wasn’t the beautiful send-off he wanted.
He is on a long journey, 800 KM/497 miles from Beersheba to Haran. It was a journey backward in time for Jacob, backward because he was retracing the steps of his grandfather Abraham who came from Haran to the Promised Land many years ago. Abraham left behind him a settlement of people. So, it was natural that Rebekah thought of Haran for a safe haven for her youngest son.
It was far enough where Esau wouldn’t follow him, yet there was family there, Rebekah’s brother, so Jacob wouldn’t be alone. Rebekah’s plan was simple. She was sending him to a safe place for a few months until Esau’s anger passed away. Then she would send word for Jacob to come home. In the meantime, she hoped that her son would marry one of her relatives in Haran and eventually return home. It was a good plan, and in fact it came to pass, but not exactly as Rebekah envisioned.
Running from His “RESET” left him alone and lonely. When we run from what God has for us we end up with a hard-enough head we can sleep on a rock. That’s exactly what we will find out tomorrow, that even when we end up between a “Rock” and a hard place—God can meet us.
“God help me to run to you not from you. Help me to lay my head on you. Help me to see into the Spirit realm and realize you are for me not against me. I ask you this in Jesus Name, Amen.”
