However, there is more to us than soul and spirit. We are a body. Our body needs to be taken care of. What we eat, how much we sleep, if we exercise, all matters to the efficiency of how our body feels, and functions. So, take time for "Self-Care". You will feel better about yourself, and function at a higher level. You will like you, more.
Men and women both need to feel good about themselves. When we feel good about ourselves, we hold our heads a little higher. We walk with a bit more authority. So, why don't we take better care of ourselves? Well, for lots of reasons. We put others ahead of ourselves because we feel we are undeserving, we lack finances, we refuse to take the time, and maybe, even fight feelings of guilt. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV What we put into our bodies as well as what we do to the outside of the cup, is very important. It is our choice, what we put into our soul. Our mind, our emotions, as well as our intellect, must all be fed a daily dose of the Word of God, in order for us to be healthy. If we are not healthy, then we will be sick. Sick people, make people sick. Only well people, can make people well. Is it well with your soul? If we want to help others, pour into them something of value, we must first have something inside of us to pour into others. I've got to be honest with you. When God uses you--sometimes you will feel used. The only way to recover and feel ready to be what God wants you to be, and to do what He asks, is to be in the Word daily, and get the Word back into you. However, there is more to us than soul and spirit. We are a body. Our body needs to be taken care of. What we eat, how much we sleep, if we exercise, all matters to the efficiency of how our body feels, and functions. So, take time for "Self-Care".
