" In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not comprehend it."

Returning from the "Raising Kings" 2019 Intensive that I do yearly, I had all plans to rest and relax. Nah, I redid my porch for Fall. After being in the mountains of Pennsylvania I wanted to settle into Fall. I have a busy October. Knowing what awaits me, helped to motivate me to get a jump on preparing for Thanksgiving. When we know what is ahead of us it changes our today. I know Heaven is ahead of me. I may not know the time or day, but I know the season is drawling closer, if not for everyone at least for me, though eternity does await us all. We can prepare for where we spend eternity today. If you haven't thought about that, perhaps today is the day. Allow me to encourage you to read the Bible, and do a search for all the scriptures that contain Heaven, eternity, forever, and kingdom just to get you started. This is the wreath on my front door. I care about what people see when they enter my home. When people first glance at you, for you are the Temple of the Lord, what do they see? Are you inviting, clean, well manicured? Or a mess? The way we take care of ourselves, our homes, our cars, says a lot about who we are as a person and what kind of a steward we are, of what God has given us. Here is a picture of my porch. I had some fall pillows and they added just the pop of color I needed for early fall. It's amazing to me, how just a little color changes everything. As the leaves begin to change, it activated gratefulness in me for variety. Life would be so boring without the variety of food, styles, colors, and personalities that the Lord has given us. I have friends that are "serious work horses". I have other friends that are total "show ponies", and still others that are "wild race horses", they are truly, tamed and harnessed power. I love them all. They all add color to my life. Some make me think, others make me smile, and still others push me to improve myself. I want all of God's people to feel welcome in my presence. As people approach my life, whether in my home, church, community or missions, I want to be approachable. I believe inside each of us are gifts from God, placed there for one another. If we aren't approachable, the gifts inside of us don't have a chance of being experienced by the giver, or the receiver. Finally, here is a little table on my porch with an oil lamp. When I light it at night the oil keeps the bugs away, but it is also inviting. People like to visit and just stop by and sit on our porch. Even though it is dark all around there is a light that draws them to come and sit awhile. Ask yourself, is my life a light that invites the right company and expels the wrong visitors? Am I shining the light of Christ to others, drawling them to Him? Our lives speak with every action, word and deed. Give your life the right picture of the One you serve and have given your everything. John 1:4-5 (NKJV) " In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." ACTION STEP: Look around you today. Is your home inviting? Your Car? Your personal body? The things that God has made you a steward over, how do they look? What can you do today to make you, your life and your surroundings more of a reflection of Christ? Answer those questions and do the study above on Heaven, Eternity and the Kingdom. Write me and share how God spoke to you and what you did to change your here and now, to prepare for your hereafter.
