Similarities between the rain and reign of God.

I've always been able to smell the rain before it ever arrives. I've noticed the leaves of the trees turn toward the sky as if to cup, what they expect to come. Trees seem to prepare for the rain, as if orchestrated they begin to sway and roll over. The earth that has allowed itself to survive the beating of the sun, open and receive the water as the sky opens up, and droplets begin to fall. The earth doesn't fight the rain, it receives it. We have been made from the earth (Genesis 2:7). Why is it then, that man created from the earth, resist the reign of God? Why don't we roll over? Why is it we don't lift our hands to the Heavens? Why don't we open up to all God wants to pour down upon us, and pour into us? We resist. We run. We turn away, rather than towards our creator. God rains and reigns, and His creation is to lift itself to Him in whatever way He decides to display Himself, and make Himself known. Yet, we who are the highest of the life forms, that He created--think we know better. We question Him and all He does. I wonder what He thinks? How merciful and kind, good and patient He must really be? His desire has always been to clothe us. His desire has always been to cover us. (Psalm 91:4)

The trees of the earth don't struggle to produce the fruit of their own kind, they just stand and submit, to what they are programed and created to do. Often times the word of God compares us to trees, but literally some of us are true "Hardwoods". Who of us, in our right mind...would fight God? Yet, how many of us too? We want what we want, and think that reason alone, is worthy of rebellion against the word of God? Who do we think we are? That's right! We think rather than submit. We struggle rather than lift up our branches and bear the fruit of the gifts God has placed within us. Then we wonder. We cry out to God. Why aren't our relationships better? Why don't we manifest patience, kindness and goodness? Where are the practicals of a godly life; like faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? 

If truly you have received the love of God(an unconditional love),you will  extend  that love to others!

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. John15:12

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.-Romans 12:10

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. John 4:12

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:10

ACTION STEP: Let us ask for this fruit of the Holy Spirit. If we ask,God won’t decline our request. Lift up your heads O you ancient gates and let the King of Glory may come in! (Psalm 24:9)

Let's be the trees of the Lord, the planting of our God and cup our hearts, hands and heads to all God wants to reign down on us! (Isaiah 45:8) (Acts 14:17) (Amos 4:7) (Exodus 9:33)
