We kids used our imagination. We built rafts. We somehow found a way to swing from the trees with either some old rope or a thick grapevine. We built our own tree houses. We fished with sticks. It was all about the adventure. No one had to entertain us. We knew exactly what we were doing, no Google needed. This was a time when kids were kids. We played ball and cards and board games. We caught lightning bugs and put them in jars and yes we made jewelry out of them, (poor things)
So this Summer go back in time and find the child in yourself and allow your children to do the same. Let them find the Robinson Crusoe and Huckelberry Finn inside of them. An imagination serves us all well in that when we exercise it we become more creative and awaken the inventor inside of us.
Enjoy your Summer. Leave a reply about what your summer traditions were and who knows you may just find them in print here on RPMDaily.
