“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
For example, when they have a bad day, when they get hurt, when they can't find what they are looking for, encourage them to pray. Teach them that when they are being attacked, and--they can fight back. Pray with them a simple prayer, and then speak to the devil to release that thing they lost. Finish the job by "Thanking God" for exposing the item.
Another great idea is to read scripture to your child. The one above is a great portion of scripture for beginners as well as advanced children. Make the items for your child with their helps, and explain each piece of armor as you make them. Then teach them how each piece of armor is to be used.
Action Step: It is not the job of the school to teach your children about the things of God. It is our job to train up a child. This word train means by example, without words. In other words, it means, let your child see you do spiritual warfare. Live your life in front of your child in a way that if they did what you did, they would have a successful life. Remind yourself you are raising never dying human beings that will one day rule the world, have children of their own, and perhaps even take care of you. Children do what they see, not what you say. The old saying, "More is caught than taught is true. Today, fright the fight of faith in front of your child! We do them an injustice to fight all their battles for them. We want to raise warriors not whimps.
