Yes, I know what you're thinking. "Pastor Rena, you are a preacher. You know satan hates us. We look just like Jesus. Satan hates Jesus, so he hates us." Ok, so you're right. Yes, I know that, but satan even left Jesus for another time. Right? Yet, sometimes it seems like we get no relief. As a pastor I hate it when my congregation goes through tough times. I want them to have it easy.
We all know the story. We learned it as a little child if we grew up in church. It goes like this, Adam and Eve were in the garden where everything was perfect. Then, along comes a snake and tempts Eve. She ate the fruit and gave it to her husband and they both died. As I child, I thought it sure took them a long time to die. Hummm, I wondered how come they didn't die right away? When did snakes talk? I had lots of questions. I still do. One question that I still wrestle with is why does it seemingly good people, who do a lot for God, always seem to get no relief? Why is it that Satan just keeps coming at them from all angles--all the time? Yes, I know what you're thinking. "Pastor Rena, you are a preacher. You know satan hates us. We look just like Jesus. Satan hates Jesus, so he hates us." Ok, so you're right. Yes, I know that, but satan even left Jesus for another time. Right? Yet, sometimes it seems like we get no relief. As a pastor I hate it when my congregation goes through tough times. I want them to have it easy. We all get tested. If Jesus got tested, why wouldn't we? In stead of asking, "Why do bad things happen?" I ask, "What would Jesus do?" I cry out to Jesus to give me strength and get me through the test. I remind myself what the scripture says. I choose to do what I know to be right. You can too. And, the more you do this, the better you get at it. You will begin too wear satan out, rather than him wear you out. Satan comes to see if we truly believe what we say we believe. ACTION STEP: I agree with whatever the Bible says. I agree with Jesus. I have Jesus on the inside of me and that power residing on the inside of causes me to be victorious in every battle. We win if we don't give up. So, today your battle plan is a witnessing tool for others. Say this when the battle rages, "Go ahead satan make my day! Because your days are numbered--I will live forever but one day you will be destroyed in the lake of fire. Then, smile and carry on.
