The 5 Kings of Makkedah-#3 in the series

This week we are looking at the story in Joshua 10 that reads:

Verse 10. "...so the Lord routed them before Israel…and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah...." Verse 16," But these five kings had fled and hidden themselves in a cave at Makkedah...." Verse 24, "So it was, when they brought out those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, 'Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.' And they drew near and put their feet on their necks. Verse 25, "Then Joshua said to them, 'Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; be strong and of good courage, for thus the Lord will do to all your enemies against whom you fight.'"

The 3rd king we want to look at is Piram, king of Jarmuth. This king represents a spirit of besiegement that can lead to barrenness, poverty, isolation and death. It wants to keep you wild, unbridled and too proud to submit to true spiritual authority so that you will be isolated. I believe this king is loosed upon the earth at this time. Regardless of the age of a person this spirit strikes to stop us from birthing a move of God. Rather than be with people, it causes us to isolate and medicate rather than procreate, and appreciate the gift of God in people.

When we are weary from the fight of faith, rather than run to our corner four people as Henry Cloud teaches in his book, The Power of the Other; we become wild and unbridled. Many turn to drugs, alcohol or sex, rather than submit their flesh to the God assigned authority in their lives. True spiritual authority, can read the signs and address the fleshly issues this spirit produces. Pride comes before a fall and this spirit wants us to fall and fall hard.

Repent and ask God for forgiveness. There is a way out. Jesus is the way. This kings neck has been broken. We do not have to be controlled by this wicked kings spirit any longer.  God freed us that we might have life and have it more abundantly. God's desire was never for us to be alone. A wild horse is good for nothing, until it is tamed. Start with bridling the tongue, because it exposes what is in your heart. When the heart is right the body will follow. Get into the word of God daily and renew your mind and take back what is rightfully yours.
