When thinking about Memorial Day and those that have given their life for our freedom, I think of water baptism. Given those of us that have decided to lay down our lives that we may pick up His.

Today as we remember those that gave it all, let us not forget, our Lord and Savior. But also those that are dying not a physical death but a death that is a living sacrifice. I want to share a personal story of when my brother who was in Kuwait and left his two small children and wife at home. My niece and nephew sent their pillow cases to their Daddy and he wrote all over them and returned them home. Those little ones slept with those pillow cases every night. My sister-in-love made a heart string and attached it to where they lived to where my brother was stationed. Their hearts were attached. However, hurt shows itself as anger and detachment at times. When I mentioned to my little nephew how much he looked like his dad his broken heart showed up as a big disconnect because his little heart was broken. It took some time after Daddy got back to heal that little heart.
So tonight when you go to bed remember to pray for those little ones missing their mommies and daddies. Remember the hearts that are connected. More than anything remember where and to whom your heart is to be connected.
