That is the way it is with life. We have days we wish would never end and days that can end quickly enough; life brings us both. There is a time and a purpose for every season.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (KJV)To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Not looking forward to winter. Not looking forward to getting up when it is still dark. Not looking forward to driving home from work and it already being dark. No, I am not looking forward to the end of summer, because I love sitting on the porch and watching fire flies, and I love the sun against my skin. I love driving my convertible. Sure, I remember all the old people saying, "All good things must come to an end." I never liked that saying. In fact I decided that I wasn't going to believe that saying. So, here I an as an adult. I learned that all things do come to an end. It is getting dark earlier. It is dark when I get up. But, there will be another summer. I can look forward to long days, beautiful sun sets, and fire flies lighting up the evening sky. There will be cold and snowy days in between, but spring will be making its return and paving the way for summer once again.
That is the way it is with life. We have days we wish would never end and days that can end quickly enough; life brings us both. There is a time and a purpose for every season.
