I want my kids to be around me all the time. Then when grandkids came along I wanted them around me too. I've decided that's God's nature in me. I am becoming more like God each day because I choose to hang out with Him on a daily basis.
Psalm 145: 8-9 (KJV) "8 The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.9 The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. "
Let’s just look at another area today that God’s goodness can be seen.
His goodness is seen through Salvation:John 3:16-17 (KJV) "16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Romans 2:4 (KJV) "Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"
Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4: 10 (KJV) “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
God sent His only Son to give the world living water! ( Even to a prostitute.) So we can see in just these few scriptures how very good God is. He is full of compassion, slow to anger and merciful and if that were not enough He sent His son to save us all from satans power.
I love that the word of God tells of His goodness but the fact that we can experience His goodness for ourselves is even greater news.
When someone is good to me I want to be good back. I look for ways to bless the person that showed me kindness in whatever ways I can. God is the same way only better. He wants to bless us even though we are not good or kind or even in a position to receive a blessing.
Look for areas that God has been good to you and thank Him for it. Gratitude goes a long way.
