"Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it."
Craig Groeschel says, "Fall in love with the journey." It is also a book title by Zita Fontaine. Still another said and I quote, "In our obsessive wish to arrive, we often forget the most important thing, which is the journey." -- Paulo Coelho
This is what happened to me. I fell in love with the journey. I fell in love with the process. I realized once again how much I love to write. I realized how healing it was to let my emotions flow through the ink and onto the pages. As I saw the story come back to life, so did the memories, the emotions, the feelings that I had severed myself from long, long ago. Our lives are an endless trip where we are navigating from one place to another following new paths, destinations and learning as we go.
Once, we return from the trip we often dream about where we plan to go next. Personally, I dislike unpacking and putting everything back where it belongs. Truth be told I don't enjoy packing either. I have this exhale of relief when I pull out of my driveway and make the decision, it is what it is. If I forget something I will go find me a Walmart or a Target. When I write, it's as though all the packing is done. I just take the pen and paper and leave. I don't need anything else. When I finish a book, everything is already put away. Nothing to unpack. It is done.
I am considering doing a writing workshop. I could collaborate with a few of my fellow authors and share the process. Whose in? I am not ready to quit traveling. A journey can be more beautiful if you take some others with you.
