So if things seem to be stagnating around you and nothing seems to be moving you better check your prayer temperature.
Picking up where we left off yesterday Elijah and Ahab were in the midst of a 3 ½ year drought. Rain was much needed, for famine stared them in the face. Isn’t that what Famine does? It is there staring at you all the time! The famine of Love, Relationships, Finances, Peace just to name a few are hard looks.
Ahab had walked many weary miles to seek grass for his horses; other men's cattle had perished, and if the drought had continued, everything would have died. But it was not Ahab who heard the sound of the rain. There was no sign of it. The heavens were as brass, the sky was without a cloud, everything was burned up with dry heat. “There is a sound of abundance of rain” said Elijah.
There are those who know of a coming Revival long before there is any sign. They have felt their prayers being answered, and have heard the sound of rain. It may not look like rain but something has changed and now they are just looking for their sign.
Ahab went up to eat and drink but Elijah went up to the top of Carmel which means place of harvest. I take it he had been there before and planted abundant prayers and he was going up to get his harvest.
Don’t get weary if you have been planting prayers you will reap a harvest. Just get into your prayer position and watch what God will do for He will not be mocked.
If you have heard a sound then hit your dry ground because it's about to rain!
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)”9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:7 (KJV) “7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
