As I write this it is Sunday evening and this will post in the morning. We had a guest speaker at our church and her message was enlightening. I’ve preached a lot of messages on the donkey that Jesus asked His disciples to go untie and bring to Him. However, I never thought about it from the angle she preached. What if that donkey had broken free from his post? What if he had wondered off? What if he had not been there when the Master called for him? The presence and person of Jesus Christ would never have been able to come upon him.
How about you? What’s drawling you away from your post? Is it the lust of the world or the cares of life? Perhaps you have grown weary of the wait? We know that in the world its location, location, location. But in the Kingdom of God over and over we see that location was of the utmost importance. Pitching your tent in the wrong direction could prove deadly. Finding oneself on the wrong side of Red Sea will cost you your life. Leaving your post can cost you the presence of God.
Don’t be a stupid donkey. Stay at your post. Jesus knows where you are and at the right moment He is going to call for you because He has a particular job for you to do that is going to require you to be untied and He is going to put His presence upon you and you and Him are going places.
Exodus 33:14 "And He said, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."
