Traveling through the storms.

When you have to travel through a storm it seems as if, you will ever make it. You probably wonder if you will ever arrive at your destination. Last night was such a night. On my way home  from speaking, I counted at least five cars in the median, or off to the side of the road. I thought to myself each time, "That could be me." I heard a gentle voice speaking to my inner man say, "You prayed for protection. You've been praying for weeks. You've asked others to pray. You've given me permission to intervene into your life." Wow, I thought as I sat there looking through the frozen windshield, "Prayer really matters."  Now, of course I know that. I pray all the time. I specifically pray for others. We have prayer services, and even add fasting many times to our prayer. Why did it come up in my spirit like that? Because this time it was me. Because this time it was obvious, that was all that was keeping us safe. Because, I knew that was the only difference. Sometimes, you have to see to understand when it's you.

I arrived safely home just a little latter than I had estimated. I was just glad to be home. Are you praying now to make it home safely? Are you praying daily for what your life is going to be like ten years from now, twenty, thirty? Prayer matters. Don't waste time stewing-do something that matters. Pray.
