What does the Word of God really say?

Proverbs 16:18 (KJV) Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

I have lived long enough now to understand that when people want to go do something, even if it is wrong, they will find a way to do it. Sin takes preparation. Whether it is to have an affair or, do Heroine it takes planning. Once sin is seeded into your soul, which is your mind, will and emotions the poison begins to pump through your system. Then, your entire system begins to shut down on everything else. You quit thinking about your job. You quit thinking about your family. You quit thinking about your health, your money, your future and God. All you think about is the sin that you are wanting to commit. You have become a slave. You have fallen not just into sin, but you actually think you are smarter than God, and you are the exception to the ramifications of the sin you are not just committing--but committed to.

Pride will tell you, "You got this." Pride will tell you, "You will never get caught." Pride will tell you, "Everyone else may get caught but you're smarter than that." Pride lies. Sin leads to death. At first the sin may seem to you as a safe stronghold to run into for release and peace. Soon that stronghold becomes a fortress and eventually it becomes a tomb, from which there is no resurrection.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Actions Step: Today, asks yourself the hard questions. Where have I thought that I was smarter than God? What am I doing that consumes my thought life that is not of God? In what area of my life do I need to get right with God? Then, ask God for help in that area. Ryan LeStrange says, "A devil exposed is a devil defeated." Get your life back! Once the thief is caught he has to pay back! It can be payback time in your life, today!
