What would you like to be remembered for.

Last night, as I shared the message the Lord gave me, He brought something to my mind that wasn't in my notes. "What do you want your epitaph to say?" "What will you be remembered for?" Since we have just celebrated the Resurrection, and are still remembering Passover; it brought to mind how we remember Jesus. This led to asking those watching on Live-streaming how they would like to be remembered?

We laugh at the above tombstone, but think for a moment--perhaps all their time was spent surfing the net? What will you be remembered for?

You will be remembered for what you are doing in your life today.

It will be too late to change things at your funeral.

Let me encourage you to live out your life of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in the world in which you live right now.

Do what's on that "Bucket List" sooner than later.

I read about a lady who kept her beautiful silk night clothes rapped in tissue paper in her drawer. She was saving them for a special occasion. They buried her in them. I don't want to wait that late to wear something beautiful. Another story I read was much the same. The story was about beautiful hand crocheted pillow cases that a couple had received as a wedding gift. It had their names sewn in beautiful threads. They were never used and found only after they were buried.

I want to encourage you to use your gifts today, not just the physical tangible gifts but your God-given gifts. If you paint--then paint. If you write--then write. Whatever it is that you do well, then to God be the glory "Do it now!" Be remembered for kindness. Be remembered as a great story teller. Be remembered for having an infectious laughter.

I have a friend that lights me up like a lightbulb when she calls me on the phone. Why? Her infectious laughter makes me smile every time. Yesterday, was her birthday and she was celebrated by all who love her. Why? Because she lives a life worth celebrating.
The life we live is God given, what we do with it, is a choice. We can choose to smile and enjoy the day, or complain and grumble, things are not as we would like them to be. Choices. We have hundreds of them a day. Smile or frown. Soft answer or wrath. Work or lay around. Be kind or be hateful. Show love or wait for others to love you first. Sounds like a child's game. Let's be children of God, but mature in our choices and actions.
Joshua 24:15 NIV
"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Isn’t it amazing how people always remember the bad things you’ve done.

Peter’s Denial not His preaching at Pentecost.

David’s sin with Bathsheeba not him bringing the ark home.

Jonah running from God not his preaching.

Eve’s sin as oppose to her beginnings.

The World remembers the bad things that we have done, Praise God He forgive us.

Psalm 103:12 "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

What do we want to be remembered for?

What legacy do we want to leave behind?

Not to take any credit, but to say how God has used us.

ACTION STEP: Think before you speak. Read the Word of God so that you can live your life according to what it tells us. We may not know the answers to every question life brings, but we can know the One who does.

More time on your hands? Spend some of it with God. Allow Him to have a conversation with you. Listen as much as you speak. Ask Him questions, then listen for His answers. Live to leave a legacy you will be proud of, and God will reward.
