I thought I would take today and tell you about the Women's organization I founded over twenty years ago. It began with just a few women at our newly founded church that I wanted to train for ministry. I began to pour into them the "How-to's" of ministry, mothering, being a wife, a daughter of God, friend... and all the many hats a woman of God might find herself wearing.
I taught them how to prepare a message, use a microphone, use vocal inflection, dressing for success, how to be a leader or feeder in a church, conflict resolution in marriage, on the job and in church along with basic Christian disciplines and prayer. Along with so many other subjects such as childrearing and housecleaning. The subjects were limitless. We began to have Teas for the public and seminars and intensives. The ladies grew in number and many wanted their friends and family to attend. That is when I changed the name from "Leading Ladies" to "Women of Witness." This occurred due to the growth as these were no longer just the leading ladies at my church, but ladies from other churches as well. We became a non-denominational community of women from all walks of life. The ages were anywhere from late teens to late seventy's. We continue to grow and are now International.
We meet the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10AM and end at Noon. We always have an article on how to better oneself and how to better our relationships with others. We read a book about every 3-4 months and share with one another what we are learning. We would love for you to come be a part this Saturday. We will be meeting back in person at our church location as well as on Zoom for our out of state and out of country women of witness. This month we will also be doing Vision Boards. Boards and supplies will be on site. If you join by Zoom please have your supplies with you.
Below is a picture of some of us playing around at an Intensive we had one year at Canaan, WV. We had a Safari theme. Each year our Intensive falls on the 2nd weekend in September. This year we will be at Jumonville, PA . Registration opens soon.
