Practicing what I preach

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Picture
I know what you're thinking. This isn't Sunday. Well, who said everyone has to take their Sabbath on Sunday? That's right. No one. When you live a long life you learn that there are times you must do, whats best for you. If it is not immoral or illegal, if it's not going to hurt anyone, and could help oneself--then why not?

Sabbath comes from the word Shabbath which essentially, means “a day of rest.” God commanded a day of rest because He wants us to trust Him, and taking a Sabbath helps keep us from idolizing work, and wearing ourselves out. We fall apart if we don’t rest. Today, I am taking a rest! I have driven over twelve hours and shared the word, all in less than 3 days, and whole time I was driving I took classes. I want to be well rested for my next assignment. Be true to yourself and good to your body.

Enjoy your day. I have a long weekend of work ahead of me, and I am looking forward to it all. I want to be able to give it all. So, what are you doing to prepare for your tomorrows? My suggestion is practice the word. Don't be religious about it, but be real about it. God wants us to honor Him by honoring and taking care of the body He gave us to live in while we are here on this earth.

ACTION STEP: When you are tired--rest. Be true to yourself. You only have one body. Take care of it.

I believe in you! Believe in yourself.

Love verses worthlessness and shame.

What does Bible say about shame?
O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. ...
Picture
When a person has been abandoned they feel worthless and aw though what happened was their fault; so they have shame. This makes intimacy very hard if not impossible without the healing of Father God.

Abandonment can occur when a parent confides in his or her child or expects a child to take on age-inappropriate responsibilities. Abandonment happens when children are unfairly treated or in some way given a message that they or their experience is unimportant or wrong. Then, as adults, we become afraid of intimacy.  Here is the link to the video below if it does not show up below or view in your Browser:
https://youtu.be/G0mEwMhYRPY
ACTION STEP:  After you watch the video above ask yourself the hard questions and take the steps to be free. Pre-pave the way to drive on in intimacy. Get your control back. Start that's the hardest part. Start receiving the small complements and just learn to say, "Thank you." God is a good God. God is a God of faith, love and safety. God wants to be intimate with us. As we let Him in, we crack the door for others to be accepted into our heart.

I believe in you and I want you to believe in yourself!

When you can't be yourself or are afraid to just be you.

I put two videos here today, as they help explain one another. There is a big difference in being a Narcissist and having been raised by a Narcissist. What is frightening is that if we are not working at becoming Christ-like, we can become like the people who raised us. If our parents were victims or a long term survivor of abuse, neglect and abandonment, chances are we will begin to see symptoms of being an over-achiever, perfectionist, sad, depressed, riddled with anxiety and many other symptoms of, "not going to be good enough." I personally experience trust issues and fear of not allowing myself to be "me-who I am" and not who everyone else needs me to be, or who I became to make others happy or able to function.
Only learning about oneself, prayer, honesty and crying out to God can help anyone regardless of what they are dealing with.

ACTION STEP: If you have then time, watch this video below and if you think you were raised by a Narcissist, learn how you can not repeat the pattern with those in your family and loved ones. Survivors of Narcissist Parents are not going to recognize their behaviors, and as the first video shared can be like two people. But God! God can heal everyone and every memory. God has helped me see my life as a blessing. I don't have to spread the gospel of enabling to be radically accepted. I am and you are accepted by Christ and Father God. The Holy Spirit is daily help. Call upon the Lord!

The Body Keeps The Score.

In The Body Keeps the Score, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust. He explores innovative treatments—from neurofeedback and meditation to sports, drama—that offer new paths to recovery by activating the brain’s natural neuroplasticity. Based on Dr. van der Kolk’s own research and that of other leading specialists, The Body Keeps the Score exposes the tremendous power of our relationships both to hurt and to heal—and offers new hope for reclaiming lives.

I have several favorite chapters in this book. It took me quite a while to get through the pages. I would be triggered by a memory and then have to put the book down, and have a good hard cry. The ugly kind of cry you don't want people to see. There was a chapter on "The Unbearable Heaviness of Remembering." I thought I wanted to remember, so I could move on. It's not that easy. Remembering was like weaving back together a thread you had held on to, but had no "Why?" Why did that one memory stand out (that one thread), when nothing was attached to it? Then, you find that it was pulled from a much larger more painful memory that you'd long forgotten but, "The Body Kept the Score."

My coach challenged me to read ten books on the subject of Abandonment. First, the books were hard to find. Then, I had to sift through the pages to find what I was looking for. Now, I realize the book I've been looking for, is inside of me. Thousands are waiting on it. Singles are waiting, because they can't begin to look for their Boaz, or their Esther, because they can't trust. Married couples need the book still inside of me, because they want to be close, but fear intimacy; so only have a surface relationship. The elderly need to read the pages I am still penning because, all of their life they knew they were different and couldn't find the solution to the loneliness, and fear they have felt all their life.

Maybe what's inside of you is not a book? Maybe it is a song yet to be sang? Maybe it is a painting yet to be seen? Maybe it is a business yet to hire that young professional? Whatever it is? God wants to help you. But, God is found inside people. People that God may bring your way, but in your woundedness you may push those very people away.

Find someone to coach you along your journey. If you don't know what that one thing inside of you that can't wait to be set free is? All the more reason to find someone to talk to. If it's your pastor, great. If you don't have one, ask around to friends about where they go to church? Who is their pastor? Who is their coach? Contact me here or on my website renaperozich.com to see if we might be a good fit for one another.

People need people. I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.

ACTION STEP: When you begin to be healed of childhood trauma and neglect or adult PTSD, you begin to own yourself again. Once we own ourself we can give ourself fully to God and fully to those we love. Once we begin to understand ourselves we find empathy we never knew we had. Patience we thought we lacked goes to work on ourselves and others. We feel alive, not just like we are watching our life go by.

I believe in you. Believe in yourself! Make an investment in you!

Write the vision down and run with it!

Write the vision.
Writing the vision down is a timeless principle.
Habakkuk 2:2 (MEV)
“And the Lord answered me:
Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who reads it may run.” When it is written down and then implemented, those we lead can ‘run’ with it and we will see it succeed.
Picture
I have always been a life-long learner. I have not always written things down--as in a vision board. I have torn pictures from magazines and put them on my refrigerator, and even on my credenza or hutch. When I have done this it has worked! So why did I wait so long to do my Vision Board? I didn't think it mattered. I found out, it does!

Life can knock the dreams out of us. Busyness can steal our dreams. We work hard for the money, but lose the reason, "Why?" I am so grateful to get my dream back. I always wanted to finish my schooling. I never wanted to stop at my BS or a masters. I wanted that Doctorate. So, I began to dream again. I didn't just dream, I made a plan to make the dream a reality. I got a coach. I got accepted into the Doctorate Program! My Vision Board is becoming a reality one vision at a time.
ACTION STEP: Make your dreams a reality. Start with a vision board. Get a coach. Get an accountability partner. Make a list of Goals for 2021. Pick "One Word" to help keep you on track. You've got this and God's got you. Get into the Word of God and let His Word get into you. Be a "reader" because "Readers are Leaders!"

I believe in you and you can believe in yourself! Follow me on here and share, repost, subscribe. Let's make dreams become realities together! We all need help! We all need accountability. Get what you need!

Just Like Jesus

I John 3:2
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that,
when he shall appear, we shall be like him;
for we shall see him as he is.”

Picture
We were created to look like Jesus. Jesus is coming back the King of Kings. We are the kings, the King is coming back for. We have a responsibility to walk in the power and authority that Jesus purchased for us. When Jesus showed up, He made a difference. The same authority, that Jesus walked in was purchased on that cross. The authority that the first Adam lost, was returned to us by the second Adam. So, let's seize the day. Take authority over all the circumstances that are contrary to what Jesus would have done. Read the word in the four Gospels and find out what Jesus did and then go do that!

I pray you enjoy the message in the video below that I shared with our church this past Sunday. View in your Browser if it doesn't show up below, or click here to view:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-p9X_YRB_o
ACTION STEP: Whatever you are going, through just keep going. It only took one man, Adam, to mess up everything. It only takes one person, you or me, to change the world. We have the gift of the Holy Spirit and we can be "Just Life Jesus."

I believe in you. Believe in yourself! Believe in the power that Jesus died to restore for you. You can live "Just Like Jesus." You can have a victorious life of health, wealth, and peace "Just life Jesus."

Have a great weekend. I will catch back up with you on Monday.

Change takes courage.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline."
Picture
Many times, in my life's journey I have gotten stuck. I fear success. I fear failure. I fear people. I fear not pleasing God, or not fulfilling the purpose for which I was placed on this earth. We all face fears. The goal is to face the fear and keep forging ahead. When you change, everything changes. People are not always going to be happy with your changes. Change anyway. You and I will answer to God one day for what we did with our time on this earth. Let's be able to stand before Him and bring a smile to His face. God knows what's it's like down here, that's why He wants to take us up there and then change it all down here. Face the fear. Make the change. It does get easier. It will take courage.

In scripture, courage is also referred to as "good cheer" which means boldness and confidence. Throughout the Bible, God commands us to fear not, to be of good cheer, and to have courage in our life. Sometimes we doubt our own strength and conviction but, we can turn to scripture for the encouragement to live in good cheer and trust in God.

Here is a link to the video below if it fails to show up. You can also always view in your Browser.
https://youtu.be/7gltVqAZ9JA
ACTION STEP: Bible verses about courage inspire me to be steadfast in faith and to only fear the Lord. With God's protection and guidance, we should be able to conquer our fears and live a life full of determination. Try looking up all the verses that refer to fear and writing them in a little book that is small enough to carry around with you. Then, when fear comes, pull that little book out and start building  yourself up with the power in those verses. The Word of God is a powerful weapon.

Jesus relied on the Word of God alone to overcome obstacles, including the devil. God's Word is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12), useful for correcting us when we are wrong and teaching us what is right (2 Timothy 3:16). So, it makes sense for us to carry God's Word in our hearts through memorization, to be ready to face any problem, every difficulty, and whatsoever challenge that life can send our way.

I believe in you. I need you to believe in yourself! Be brave!

Proverbs 8:17
"I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me."
Picture
If you have been abandoned or neglected as a child it's easy to grow up and feel that no one can be trusted and no one really cares. It's a lonely and frustrating existence knowing or at the very least thinking you know that everyone will sooner or later hurt you or desert you. People who truly love you are constantly being hurt by you because they know, you don't trust them. You can't. Because your core belief won't let you. So, what do you do. You start changing your core belief by telling yourself something different and then testing it. Start with trusting God. Start small. Ask God for something, something based on the promises in His word and then stand on it. I mean take Him at His word and wait on Him to fulfill it.

Here's one of the things I did. I know God rejoices in the prosperity of his people. I found it in the word. So, I told God I wanted to make Him rejoice. I told Him I wanted to prosper. I told Him I would do my part but He would need to do His. I wanted to take a course that I thought would help me and eventually help me help others. We didn't have the finances. So, I said, "God if you want me to take this course You will have to pay for it." I was willing to work, but I needed Him to supply the money. I waited on God. God came through and I am still taking the courses.

I didn't wish. I prayed. I didn't tell everyone. I told God. I thanked Him before He answered. I worshipped Him as you would a good, good Father. I did not doubt Him. I trusted Him. Was it hard? Yes. Was I nervous? Yes. But, I fed my faith and did all I could do and the rest was up to Him.

ACTION STEP: I challenge you to ask God for something. Find a scripture to stand on concerning your request. Write it down. Pray over it. Thank Him for it. Trust Him. I know it's scary. I know you've been disappointed by people. Your expectations of people have not come through and you've been truly hurt. But, we can't live there. We must keep moving ahead. If we never go anywhere--we will never get anywhere, and life is a journey not a destination.

So, get back in the game of life. Play till you win. Refuse to quit on God or yourself. Together you are a winning combination. God wants you, and you need Him. No attitude. The biblical word for attitude is sin. Our sin cuts us off from God. We all struggle with this. "All have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." Romans 3:23 But, it doesn't end there. "If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from every wrong." 1 John 1:9

There is no catch. There is not ulterior motive. God loved. That's it. His love just is. We can trust that. Once we trust that then He can help us learn to trust others. Once we know and experience His love, we can love ourselves and others.

You are not unloveable. You are special to God. He wants to have a relationship with you. You, just like me--have to let Him in. Crack the door and learn to trust one day, one promise at a time.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself!
You got this.

Sleep is essential, not a choice. Take care of your body.

Jeremiah 31:26
"It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep."
 Acts 12:6
"Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me."
Picture
During this COVID Pandemic, I am talking with so many people about their sleep. Some are not experiencing peaceful and refreshing sleep, or worse, not sleeping at all. Many are tense. They are now working from home and not having that leave the office experience. So, people are working late into the hours, or around the clock. We lay in bed and work from our phones. We take our computer to the table to eat our meals. We have to stop! We have to pay attention to our bodies.  I hope this little video helps. Here is the link if it doesn't show up or you can view in your Browser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EkdVeq8h9s

On the other hand if you deal with "Abandonment" issues you my have had trouble sleeping your entire life. If you missed yesterday's RPMDaily you will want to go back and listen to it. I have had problems most of my life getting to sleep. I don't go into deep sleep until I have finally fallen asleep and began to relax. Once relaxed I fall into deep sleep and dream. Unfortunately that means, I need more sleep than others. I go to deep sleep around 5 AM and sleep sound until 7:30 or 8AM if allowed. I wear a mouth guard during certain seasons in my life because I clinch or grind my teeth. I never realized I did this until my dentist noticed and then I developed ringing in my ears. The ringing was so severe I went to an ENT doctor. For those of you that know me--I don't do doctors. I usually just handle things with God. He takes great care of me, but I don't take the best care of myself.

The body is the Temple of God. As we age thing show up. We need to be actively paying attention to our bodies. This includes relaxing and even learning new techniques to sleep better and getting enough rest.

I carried a lot of stress being the first born of five. Especially, after my mother left. I am only learning now in my sixties, how my childhood adversely affected me. If you need help let me know, or let someone like your pastor know, and they can help you; or refer you to someone who can.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.
ACTION STEP: Enjoy the video. Pay attention to the signs you are experiencing in your body. Love your body and take care of it, less you be evicted. There is an answer for every problem on earth. His name is Jesus. The Word of God is full of wisdom and insight. That wisdom sometimes come through people. So, don't be afraid to reach out for help. Sometimes, just talking to someone can help. Praying with someone of like precious faith can be a great source of comfort and revelation.

You and God have got this!
I believe in you! Now, believe in yourself!

Signs of unaddressed trauma

4/5/2021

As we come to the cross and look up, we see Jesus suffering for us, loving us, and dying for us. “Greater love has no man than this, that He lay down His life for His friends” (1 John 3:16).

Some people aren’t sure they are His friends, they feel more like His enemy. Well, He even died for His enemies: “
For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” (Romans 5:10 NIV).

And as we look to Him at the cross, and believe what we are seeing, we begin to receive and experience His love in our hearts and healing begins.
Picture
Human beings can be captive to all sorts of things. We can become captive to drugs, alcohol, impurity, food, exercise, religion, family, work, fear, thrill-seeking, and a million other things. We can be captive to depression, to the darkness that comes with it, to the isolation and loneliness that we feel.

I never knew many of the symptoms I experienced over my lifetime were connected to the trauma I experienced during my life. Trauma experiences can remain in our body even though we may not even remember the trauma.

I have been held captive to food, exercise, people, religion, fear and depression. I put these above God at some time in my life. I went to these instead of God with my emptiness; and still felt empty.

These are the very things from which Jesus came to set us free. We noticed that Jesus’ first work was to the heart: He came to heal hurting hearts, to mend broken hearts, to help the brokenhearted. This is first because every issue in life flows from the heart (Proverbs 4:23). As Jesus works in our hearts, giving us grace and love, our hearts start to heal, they become alive and are enlarged with His love.
And as our hearts are fixed and mended, we begin to experience freedom from captivity. Notice this wonderful passage:

Psalms 69:32-33 ESV  When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.  (33)  For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.

To see the video below read the blog in your Browser or click here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hUpofqO98Q
ACTION STEP:  I can honestly say, I experienced all 5 physical effects of trauma in my body. I can also say, that God has healed me in many areas and I am still expecting to receive my healing that Jesus already purchased for us all. Not sure about Somatic Experiencing but it is something I am looking into for more information. Anyone gone through this? I would love to hear from you.

I always run to my Father God first and foremost, but if there is anything else that is not immoral or illegal then I have no problem looking in to it. So, keep on this journey with me and as I learn I will be sharing.

I believe in you! You need to believe in you too!
